  1. I cannot remember the yard now, but this loco still exists in the US, still banana shped.
  2. I'm a huge fan of anything Titfield related, so looking forward to updates on this one
  3. It's a shame that I shalln't be able to attend Mansfield with it being so relatively close by, but I hope all goes well at the show.
  4. I'm so lucky that Winchester is too far, otherwise I'd end up with an O gauge shunty plank for sure. Nottingham show in November is now in the calendar thanks @298.
  5. Ooh, the NMRA show I could definitely attend, Derby is a short hop and I have nothing booked so far for that weekend. Crawley is a bit of a stretch though at 3 1/2 hrs travel each way. I guess this is one of those things where I wish I supported the shows better in the past, but sadly I didn't always have a car so I was reliant on friends mostly
  6. I love Alcos almost as much as I love UK Rustons so this ticks a lot of boxes and that rust effect is excellent, definitely one for me to try out. One of the perks of working where I do means a 5litre can of IPA costs about the same as 500ml from model railway suppliers thanks to employee discount.
  7. Hey folks, Although I realise that there is a section of RMweb for shows, sometimes it can feel like looking for a needle in a haystack when trying to find information on what shows are happening within the UK, that have more US based layouts. I attended the one at Handsacre a couple of times, but I believe that it no longer exists and whilst filling out my calendar for events to visit this year, I'd like to experience more than just the usual British layouts and heritage railways. I'm based in Lincoln, so bonus points for events that aren't in Cornwall or Far North of Scotland 😆
  8. I hadn't realised they were doing the damn coaches in non-titfield guise, I have 2 of those on order ready for my W&U layout. Oh well, serves me right for not looking around before parting with a deposit.
  9. I love the mirror on the wall, so the mess can continue onwards and look worse :D
  10. Hopefully I can attend Spalding to see this in person, help kick my backside into gear and dust off Gantsville and get it operational again.
  11. This is going to be very helpful, I have some track to ballast with a combination of ash and dirt to replicate what the full size did in a yard.
  12. This, Sir is ingenious. I've read so many times about taking stuff from the garden and utilising as trees, but I'd never considered roots before. Your tree looks great, I would have also thought it was made from wire armature if you hadn't said.
  13. I did consider trying to aquire and stretch if necessary some parts from the Rapido J70, but I'm not actually sure on the availability of spares for those. I did technically get some spare cowcatchers with my J70, (non-cutout version for use with alternative couplings,) but if I used them, I'd still need to fabricate some sideskirts, something I'm not sure I have the skills to do yet.
  14. Just blasted through this whole thread, a great model and captures the W&U perfectly. I also wasn't aware of the Sparkshot 04, for now I am going to buy some cow catchers and sideskirts from him for a rough and ready bodge on a Bachmann Junior Charlie loco, but now I know it's available, I shall eventually get a full kit to convert a Bachmann 03 (that'll be after the SMS Operation Shunt it competition has ended).
  15. Hi, I am gradually working my way through this thread after losing track of it when working flat out during the first lockdown, (classed an an essential business, we furloughed some staff, but had to keep a skeleton crew to keep running which I was a part of,) and I cam across the above picture in a post. I'm curious about the dimensions of the spdt switches you used as I need to purchase some to carry out a similar role on my current build, but cannot work out which size to buy. Could you please assist? I love the work I have seen up to now, (pg53 as I type,) I look forward to bringing myself fully up to date and following along with future progress.
  16. I realise it was a long time ago now, but do you have a link to these please as I've been looking for something similar for a long time
  17. Oh dear, surely it would polish out though
  18. Excellent news, I am glad you were able to sort it and all the information there wasn't lost. Edit: I just went to the site and it's still throwing up a security flag and will not let me access it via Chrome
  19. Wow, that is a real clean slate. My layout, Gantsville, is on a very long break now as my present accomodation doesn't really allow for it to be placed in any other position than vertical, so i have gone back to UK outline and something based on the W&U tramway until I can find a bigger place to live that I can also afford. (Read as, not the super high rents some private landlords want for their clapped out old terraces round here)
  20. That's quite the project, best of luck with it and I look forward to following the progress.
  21. As the title states, sadly it looks as though we've lost the freerails site. It's a real shame as I used it as a good resource for ideas as I embark on my RC adventure, but it seems that we need to hope most of the information there was also reposted here. I am aware of a facebook group, but as I am in the process of winding down my presence on there in preparation for leaving, I cannot rely on that to fill in the gaps.
  22. Derail Valley is actually a PC game, which can be played using a normal keyboard/controller input, or via VR. I have some videos of it on my YT channel.
  23. That loco looks like it was taken straight out of Derail Valley, (albeit a bit bigger).
