  1. Going back to Hoops versus Rams, despite being a Hoops man through & through It would be justice if Derby win (As I expect them too) having finished third in the table, but the rules are the rules so if the Mighty Rangers triumph I will be a vet happy man at !7.15 ish. Regards,Del.
  2. What's all this talk about the season being over.I might be for that South London lot in Red Shirts, but the match of the year takes place on Saturday. No No not involving a team from Madrid, but at Wembley at 3.00 pm. The Hoops versus the Rams and may the best team win. Well as long as it's QPR anyway.
  3. Question One :- White Lines on edge of Platform 6. Question Two:- I believe the canopy support brackets have had there wall fixings lengthened. Or on second thoughts the Platform Sign may be an addition. Third thoughts, just admit your struggling As for the rest, well 52 years ago my last school report said " B**** does well in subjects he is interested in but fails to pay attention to detail in subjects which don't interest him. Fair. Well maybe, but would apply to most Pupils aged 15 in my opinion. Peterborough North :- fails to pay attention to detail in subjects which don't interest him. No! that is not True, but still can't answer the other 4 questions. Now I hate bad losers, but :-,,,,,,,,,,,, in fact why don't you go and lose some Golf Balls --Gilbert
  4. Gilbert, the local gossip in the Honnington area is that Dave perfected this particular skill whilst on location with Nora Batty in Holmfirth in Gods Wonderfull County.
  5. That's great Steve, thank you very much. I will go with my gut feeling of 35 mm having seen the proof of the pudding in your photographs. Kindest Regards,Derek.
  6. Steve, Just been looking at photographs of Cardiff Canton on the Guild website when I saw the link to this page. So a pretty basic question, but what depth have you made your pits on the layout. I assume in real life they were about 4 to 5 feet in depth and that using 1:43 I could work out a rough depth of 35 mm ,but yours visually look right and I feel that is by far the most important thing. Thanking you in anticipation. Regards,Derek.
  7. One very happy S.A.C. Martin (of this Parish) this morning I guess --- Charlton 3 Watford 1 and now Charlton are safe from Relegation for another year. One less than happy Lee Clark this morning, yet another home defeat at St Andrews  . So it's all down to Saturday at the "Reebok" for the last time and Birmingham need at least a point and hope that Millwall, Doncaster don't get a draw. Or if the Blues get a win at Bolton, that Millwall & Doncaster don't win and that Blackpool don't draw. Sean Derry seems to be doing a job at Notts County and I wish them well on Saturday. The guy has always given 110% as a player and will expect the same from his players. Finally what about Nigel Worthington @ York City, facing relegation at one point and now in the Play-Off's after a fantastic run of results. Good Luck to the Boys from the nicest city in the world. :yahoo:
  8. Well the truth is :- Moyes Sacked by Manchester United and only entitled to £5 million pound pay-off because they failed to qualify for the "Champions League" The facts are he wasted £25 or more on the Telegraph Pole, sorry Belgian actually. Most of the rest of his players have seen better days and some of Sir Alex's later signings have not set the world on fire and although capped by England that only shows the dearth of quality English players in the Premier League. Just my opinion of course.
  9. So did some of the player's on the pitch. I am old enough to remember when Sir Alex first went there and struggled, but United had previously had more managers than most clubs had shirts.
  10. You could have been playing a certain Everton Loanee upfront these past two seasons ! Lukaku must have made a difference. This season is clearly the fault of Jose that Lukaku is not playing for the club.
  11. See Bod, I have faith in the Wearsiders surviving and doing well next Season under Gus. Chelski ! Sunderland 2 Final Score. . Good Luck. Del.
  12. Dave, to be honest the "Foxes" thoroughly deserve the Championship Title for their performances over the season and Burnley deserve to get promoted as well. As for us we have been very poor this season, especially when it comes to scoring goals (Leaving Charlie Austin 15 of the 54) out of this criticism. Granted we have been tight at the back on most days. On paper we were as certain for promotion as Crystal Palace were for relegation and although I think a play off place is more or less certain for us I can't see us doing anything in them and Derby will be my bet for the third promotion place. As for 2014-15 season we will have to have a mega sort out in my humble opinion. Leicester will hold their own and stay up in my opinion, but mainly because teams like Norwich,Aston Villa,Swansea,West Ham & Hull City will not be a great deal better. Good Luck though to Leicester. Derek
  13. Can't help thinking Harry's selection today pointed to us expecting enough points from the visits of Watford & Millwall and our visit to Oakwell on 3rd May to get us into the Play offs.So resting Dunne,Hill, Barton & Austin was sensible as long as the plan comes together.I think Sheffield Wednesday did a few teams a favour on Tuesday evening at Bournemouth as well 2-4 indeed.
  14. Currently on the "Steamlines" website :- A superb model by Golden Age of new build Peppercorn A1 Pacific No. 60163 'Tornado'. In BR lined green with early crest. Fitted with DCC, sound, smoke and working inside cylinder. Shedplate 51A Darlington. This is an unused model supplied in original box with paperwork. £1995. A super company to deal with from experience, as well.
  15. Black 5, now that you have posted on this topic it will automatically come up under Black5's content if you click on Black5 at the top right hand corner. Some great modelling by the way, which was my reason for commenting really. Regards,Derek.
  16. Peter, I don't wish to be pedantic, but I was under the impression from talking to Peter at Hull MRS exhibition once that he was an Architectural Technician, which he explained was a guy who constructed models of Projects that Architects were quoting for or suggesting to clients to give the client a 3D impression of the finished project. If I have got it wrong I apologise and protest Senility. I always tell Peter Goss that what really makes his layouts so outstanding is the vegitation, which I know his charming Wife does for him. A smashing couple and both very talented. Kind Regards,Derek. We seemed to have drifted away from Carlisle,I for one apologise.
  17. I do so agree with both of you very talented guys. I could of course have mentioned Pete Goss of "Rowlands Castle" fame. Geoff Kent of "Blakeny" fame, but had to stop somewhere. As for Peter & Vanessa Marshall, I have MS and after 14 months off work I got a job as a courier driver and on many occasions would call on Wagon and Carriage Works and was treated so politely and friendly by them as was my dear friend and colleague Chris, who sadly has also passed away. I met Peter later when he lent a collection of his own models to Tony Wright for an exibit at Little Bytham village fete a few years ago. The perfect Gentleman. R.I.P. Peter.
  18. Allan, I understand where your coming from , so just to even things up and put Mr Robinson in his place see below. I notice on page116 of this topic :- "Anything You Can do, I Can Do Better ! Robinson and Downes". a photograph of a pretty SUPERB 7mm model of a Church. This same church is for sale on the Wagon and Carriage Works website and Vanessa Marshall the widow of the Late Peter Marshall is selling off stock at reduced prices, hence the Church is being offered at £500 which in my opinion is a very good price for such a large building in such SUPERB condition. So two Superbs for you and a pretty blatant advert for Vanessa.
  19. Tony, How right you are, Iain Robinson deserves to be included amongst the other greats I listed above. I feel that I owe him an apology for in all honesty I don't think I had heard of him until today, despite 56 years of reading the mags and attending untold exibitions. However as an ex resident of Stoke Mandeville I am very familiar with Princes Risborough Station and Footbridge and Iain's models of them are SUPERB. There are others I could have mentioned such as Ken Ball & Bob Dawson, to mention just two but I had to stop somewhere. Spent ages looking at Iain's gallery on here and the Allan & Iain show :- "Anything You Can do, I Can Do Better ! Robinson and Downes". Regards,Derek. PS :- the buildings on the layout "Narrow Road" are pretty impressive. (Ken Hill & Tony Gee) PPS :- Mr Hill is my cousin.
  20. Gravy Train, This is just amazing modelling of the very highest level. I noticed a photograph of your compatriot "Allan Downes" the other day and could not help but think there is a striking resemblance to DLT. Just facially of course. I have to say with you two guys and Geoff Taylor & David Wright there is such talent in the Model Buildings sector of this hobby. Regards,Derek.
  21. I just cribbed this from the Landlady of the "Miltron Arms" Public House & Eatery in Elsecar near Barnsley. (Highly Recommended) The Defective Parrot......... A guy is browsing in a pet shop, and sees a parrot sitting on a little perch, it doesn't have any feet or legs. The guy says aloud, 'Jeesh, I wonder what happened to this parrot?' The parrot says, 'I was born this way, I'm a defective parrot.' 'Holy crap,' the guy replies. 'You actually understood and answered me!' 'I got every word,' says the parrot. 'I happen to be a highly intelligent, and a thoroughly educated bird' 'Oh yeah?' the guy asks. 'Then answer this, how do you hang onto your perch, without any feet.?' 'Well,' the parrot says, 'This is very embarrassing, but since you asked, I wrap my weenie around this wooden bar, like a little hook. You can't see it, because of my feathers.' 'Wow,' says the guy. 'You really can understand, and can speak English, can't you.?' 'Actually, I speak both Spanish and English, and I can converse with reasonable competence on almost any topic, politics, religion, sports, physics, philosophy. I'm especially good at ornithology. You really ought to buy me, I'd be a great companion.' The guy looks at the £200.00 price tag. 'Sorry, but I just can't afford that.' 'Pssssssst,' says the parrot, 'I'm defective, so the truth is, nobody wants me, cause I don't have any feet. You can probably get me for £20, just make the guy an offer.!' The guy offers £20, and walks out with the parrot. Weeks go by. The parrot is sensational. He has a great sense of humor, he's interesting, he's a great pal, he understands everything, he sympathizes, and he's insightful. The guy is delighted. One day the guy comes home from work, and the parrot goes, 'Psssssssssssst,' and motions him over with one wing. 'I don't know if I should tell you this or not, but it's about your wife and the UPS man.' 'What are you talking about,?' asks the guy. 'When the UPS man delivered a package today, your wife greeted him at the door, in a sheer black nightie.' 'WHAT???' the guy asks incredulously. 'THEN what happened?' 'Well, then the UPS man came into the house, and lifted up her nightie, and began petting her all over,' reported the parrot. 'NO!' he exclaims, 'and she let him.?' 'YES. Then he continued taking off the nightie, got down on his knees, and began to kiss her all over.' Then the frantic guy demands, 'THEN WHAT HAPPENED.?' 'DUNNO?!? I got a hard-on, and fell off my perch'
  22. Thank you for correcting me on that Robert, it just goes to show you can't always believe the books.I always thought it sounded strange, Swansea home of the famous Railway Coach Works.. Kind Regards,Derek.
  23. I am surprised that the Restaurant Car E1961 to diagram 23, in BR lined maroon was not used as it was built at Swansea in 1961 and would have been quite at home on the Western Region.
  24. Gilbert , he has included to many Nimbus and Stratus Clouds and as their moisture level increases so too does their weight.
