  1. Oh is that who it is. I was wondering who the dealer was considering they don't make it clear in the listing and the account has very little feedback.
  2. Because on Monday Hattons Dave said they were about to arrive imminently and now we are told they are delayed for up to 6 months. Surely he would have known on Monday whether this new batch was on its way from China or not. Really odd. Absolutely no indication that this new delay has anything to do with fixing issues from the first batch so I wouldn’t get my hopes up.
  3. So it was. Thanks for pointing that out.
  4. I painted up a couple of the GWR slam door ones. Its not that difficult, just time consuming.
  5. Big shout out to Wicor Models of Porchester. Ordered at 1:15pm yesterday and parcel arrived this morning at 11am. Very impressed. This crisis has hit small businesses hard but some are really going the extra mile.
  6. The cancellation of an exhibition is not classified information. I see no problem with people posting on here an exhibition has been cancelled if indeed it has. Of course if somebody reports an exhibition has been cancelled when it hasn’t or vice versa than that’s an issue.
  7. I have come to the conclusion after keeping up with the posts on this thread that model railway exhibitions are incredibly unhygienic.
  8. If any coach deserves this gold standard treatment it would be the iconic slam door Mk3. I have wondered why nobody has tried producing some where the doors can be opened by hand. Would only require a couple of tiny hinges. I’m not saying it would be cheap but it would be revolutionary. Imagine being able to market a model coach as having opening doors. More likely they’ll just be redone with interior lighting and more realistic interior seat mouldings unfortunately.
  9. Fair enough. I guess lots of things seem like a good idea in theory but in practice probably wouldn’t work. This is what I worry about come 7pm Sunday when Boris lays out his roadmap; that it will sound good in theory but reality will hit home soon after about the logistics of many plans.
  10. How about limiting the amount of visitors at an exhibition by only selling tickets that allow entry at a certain time and for a certain duration, for example 9am for 2 hours? This would spread out evenly the amount of visitors visiting the venue evenly throughout the day and you could limit the number of visitors evenly throughout the day. If only 200 visitors can fit in the Ally Pally at one time with 2 metre social distancing for example, then only sell 200 tickets for 9am entry (perhaps at a premium) then another 200 tickets for 11am entry and so on. Shows could open earlier and end later to allow more ticket sales. Obviously on the door tickets would not be possible with this but I don’t see this prohibitive per se. Many book in advance for these shows anyway and security could be hired for any troublemakers. We must try to find a route back for railway exhibitions to once again take place.
  11. Fair enough, but if a customers sound version is faulty, couldn’t Hattons take the chip and speaker out of the faulty model and put it in a DCC ready one and then send that back to the customer?
  12. I’m not understanding why Hattons are unable to fit sound to a non-sound version if the exact sound model is out of stock? That would be good customer service for a customer with a faulty loco.
  13. NIce driver! Where did you get him from?
  14. Hi Meir. Welcome to the forum! The lighting looks good to me. What strip are you using? Is it battery powered or track pick-up powered? If battery then bear in mind that as the lights will start to fade very gradually as the battery is drained of power. I have attached a couple of photos of my train tech lighting. Yours looks better than mine as it has more of a yellow tinge to it which is closer to the real thing.
  15. I agree. I say go for it. You considering the sound or non sound version?
  16. National Quango? What on earth are you talking about?
  17. Same here. Put in my card details and even got to the 'order complete' stage before being told by Hornby that they have sold out and had to cancel it.
  18. Since when is it xenophobic to call for a product to be made in the UK? Is it xenophobic to buy British meat over imports now?
  19. What the hell! There were six of these this morning and now all gone!
  20. Latest Class 158 status’ taken from the Bachmann website. If anyone is still after a GWR or EMT sound fitted version they better get on the blower to their local retailer ASAP.
  21. Thats interesting. Do you know if anyone has uploaded a video of this speaker fitted to the model? It would be great to hear it before purchase.
  22. This is why I don’t subscribe to BRM. Not a single diesel or electric loco or unit in sight on any of those layouts. You should rename it British Steam Railway Modelling.
  23. Thanks for your reply Steve. You are right, I was not aware of this. Nonetheless I do have both the images in SVG format (I converted them a while back for my own editing) if that helps?
  24. Hi Steve, I’m wondering if you may now have the resources to make me some First Capital Connect logos and blurred cityscapes in 4mm? I contacted you about this last year and you said back then you were too busy but I have all the artwork ready to go. Cheers
  25. What coach lights are you using Reggie? Are they battery operated or have you fitted pickups?
