  1. Does anyone think that Hornby may have a mid-year announcement on May 1st like they did last year or is that too much to expect in these challenging times?
  2. Same here. Sent three emails over last few weeks. No replies to any of them.
  3. Do the clip style HST couplings allow the train to go around 2nd radius curves?
  4. He would say that though wouldn’t he. Would be a terrible look if they said otherwise. In reality they may decide to try palming them off hoping the next customer won’t notice any defects or won’t care. What a wonderful collection! The only one your missing as far as I can see is the Freightliner orange.
  5. Any idea if retailers will start discounting these slightly more soon. At the moment they’ve all stuck to the 15% but I thought Bachmann only stipulate that’s required for the first 8 weeks after release? I dont want to buy one and then find a price drop a couple of weeks later.
  6. He can only review what’s in front of him. If he got sent two faulty locos that’s either incredibly bad luck (unlikely) or demonstrates wider issues with the Hattons 66 (more likely).
  7. Anyone know if Monkbar model shop as still trading? Been trying to place an order through their website for days but it keeps on coming up saying they are doing maintenance.
  8. Thanks for letting us know Andy. A disappointing but understandable decision. You say the show is being postponed but on the website it says it is cancelled?
  9. Hornby are already doing the 91. No need to duplicate. But fire away on the DVT and Mk4’s!
  10. He has (effectively) said that though: "I am confident we have fantastic supply chains. It is very important that everybody should behave responsibly and think about others."
  11. Looks like DC Kits/D&E Videos (legomanbiffo) and Dovetail games have also pulled out. Haven’t noticed any other traders missing.
  12. It does amaze me how many people are desperate for the government to do something, anything. What exactly do you want them to do? The more extreme actions of our European neighbours are risky too.
  13. Just got an email from my university saying they will close from tomorrow and all teaching and examinations will be conducted from home. The way this is going I would be amazed if this show goes ahead next weekend.
  14. Sounds good to me. The Scottish ban (or strong advise against) gatherings of more than 500 is not science led. The UK government so far hasn’t made sure it’s decisions are science led. Why would they find themselves in ‘uninsured water’? I don’t think it’s possible to sue the organisers of an event because someone’s contracted Coronavirus there.
  15. I don’t see why not. Let people make their own decisions based on their own circumstances. Are you someone in a high risk demographic with underlying health problems? Simple answer: don’t attend. But don’t force people who are fully fit and wish to attend to stay away by cancelling the event entirely. Such an event takes months and countless hours of hours of planning.
  16. I very much hope you are right Andy. I await the government’s instruction with baited breath. I do think the sensible thing would be for the government to allow events like this to go ahead at this stage and then people can make up their own minds if they feel able to go or not.
  17. Please bring ‘Deadman’s Lane’ Mick (unless you’re in one of those high risk groups of course)! Seeing it in the flesh is one of the main reasons I want to come to the show.
  18. I agree with the other posters. Don’t take the risk. There is only one of you but there will be plenty more model railway exhibitions in the future. I wouldn’t even be surprised if the whole show gets cancelled between now and a week on Saturday.
  19. Great! And have you been able to change the ‘hand stamp for reentry’ policy?
  20. Is it possible to find an alternative to the ‘hand stamp for reentry’ that has been used for many years at this show? I’ve always disliked it but in this climate I would suspect there will be many who won’t be too keen at having their hand stamped. Other than that I am very much looking forward to the show and hope it goes ahead!
  21. If your friend has a serious condition, why is he coming at all? Out of courtesy, people who are not well should try not to infect others and going to a big event like that is bound to increase the chances.
  22. This is interesting and I think you might be almost certainly right about it being one of the other 13 connections. Im not sure if it’s the rear lights though as the short only happens when moving off so whatever is malfunctioning must surely have something to do with the motor?
  23. They are both Loksound 5 21 pin decoders. No adaptor. Yes tried swapping them over and they both fail in it. Thats what I thought but it does run (albeit sluggishly) with a Hornby 8pin and 21 pin adaptor. It’s almost as if it has something against Loksound decoders.
  24. Hi Pheaton, Thanks for your reply. Yes it doesn’t run with the sounds off either. The loco has been run in and I have been running it in DC with no problems. I recently converted my layout to DCC so this is the first time I have put a decoder in it. No the couplings on the S stock are not electric.
  25. Hi everyone, I bought two Loksound 5 decoders for my Bachmann S stock. They both work fine in one of the end cars but in the other it shorts out my whole DCC system when moving off in reverse and going forwards isn’t great either. All sound functions work fine. I also tried a Loksound 4 with a different sound file but with the same result. Sounds work, motor doesn’t. I therefore assumed it was the train which was the issue, but it runs flawlessly on DC and with a Hornby 8pin Chip with 21pin adaptor works fine on DCC too so I’m struggling to work out if the issue is the decoder, train or if the train just doesn’t like the Loksound family. Any help appreciated.
