  1. Ok. So I can’t just unplug the controller on the right and run the train the entire way from left to right as I do now with my insulfrog points?
  2. Ok, thanks. But surely when a train coming from the left hand side and is powered by the controller on the left hand side of my diagram and goes over the points the insulated rail joiners will cut the power to it? Do I need to place dropper wires?
  3. Hi everyone, i am about to buy buy some new points for my layout and want to get some Electrofrog ones to improve slow speed running but I am confused about wiring. My layout is end to end (see plan below) with two DC controllers, one at each end, marked by the red Xs. How would I wire up the points connecting the two lines at the red question mark? Do I need IRJs? I understand the basics of Electrofrog points and how they work but am confused whether they will work straight out of the box or if additional wiring isn’t required for my layout scheme.
  4. Excellent friendly service by Tim and his wife. Very competitive pricing and orders are always extremely well packed. I can’t recommend this independent model shop highly enough.
  5. I am very tempted as I am after a new controller but am I right in thinking the select can’t access F21-25 and can’t change CVs?
  6. I would never normally order from Hattons but this looks a good bargain to me for a new DCC controller. https://www.hattons.co.uk/17572/hornby_r8213u_select_dcc_controller_with_mains_adapter_manual_split_from_set_/stockdetail.aspx
  7. Speaking of incorrect pricing, anyone care for a coach at a cool £3499? It’s not even a real one.
  8. Jadlam racing models has 10% off site wide until midnight tonight using code PRIME19 https://www.jadlamracingmodels.com/ Big range of Hornby plus I’ve tried and it includes preorders on forthcoming releases too.
  9. Dont forget, Hornby TTS only works with DCC controllers under DCC operation.
  10. Thats harsh. I think the OP deserves a bit more sympathy. There’s nothing more dissapointing than going on a long journey for something and then realising it was a complete waste of time as the shop doesn’t stock what you want. I would know as it’s happened to me many times. There are a number of so-called ‘well stocked shops’ that are in fact not very well stocked. To be fair though, in my experience Kernow are normally very well stocked.
  11. Bachmanns own website says February 2020 for all three versions so that's probably the earliest we'll see them on the shelves.
  12. Not long to wait. According to Hornby, the Scotrail and Intercitys are on their way over. https://www.Hornby.com/uk-en/shop/coming-soon.html?
  13. I agree the face does look off but it's not something that is easy to identify. I think the yellow around the front cab window is too thick. In real there is virtually no yellow between the window and the sticky out gangway.
  14. So these were what was on display in Kernow model centre at the beginning of May.
  15. If you are still having issues with distance selling regulations you are entitled to a replacement/refund within 30 days of purchase for a faulty item so I would recommend contacting Hattons. Otherwise I would send them back to Hornby for repair under warranty. They have always been excellent in my experience and even reimburse the postage costs.
  16. Has anybody got any information about the network rail mk3s as shown off by Simon Koehler in the video above? Ive never seen them advertised.
  17. I hope we get some livery samples of the EMT and GWR ones soon.
  18. Are you going to allow your wife to boss you around like that.
  19. Mine turned up in my inbox earlier today. Unfortunately my printer has packed up and cannot print it out. Will the reference number be enough that the gate?

    New tts 08

Its being released as a standalone item by Hornby and is currently expected in May. Product code is: R7146
  21. It seems like for every six months that pass, Bachmann puts it back by six months. I'm sure it won't be here by January 2020.
  22. Rubbish service from Rails yet again. Ordered a new loco for my sons birthday and specifically asked if they had one that was brand new opened, as my son cant handle things that aren't brand new. They said they did but it arrived today with the box in tatty condition and with hairs in. The train itself was even upside down in the box. Blatantly been opened. Birthday ruined. Thanks Rails of Sheffield.
  23. Wow that is amazing. Did you use an airbrush and what technique did you use to get the transition from dark to light blue?
  24. I'm just hoping we can see painted samples of those already announced sooner rather than later.
