  1. Arrived yesterday - simply superb models. Cheers Darius
  2. That type of wall construction would be ok as an infill between the store support piers but would not be strong enough itself to support the store in place of the piers. Cheers Darius
  3. Those injection moulded bricks are nice but a whole wall’s worth could be quite expensive. A typical UK facing brick is 215mm long by 65mm high by 102.5mm deep. In OO (1/76) that scales to 2.8mm x 0.9mm x 1.4mm. Let’s call that 3mm x 1mm x 1.5mm to make things easy. You can thus make your own bricks from 1mm thick plasticard - which allows for the thickness of the horizontal mortar bond between brick courses. I tried this out myself just now:- Laying OO gauge bricks is quite therapeutic as long as it’s a small screen wall. For anything larger I think 3D printing is the best way forward if only to preserve your sanity. Cheers Darius
  4. A friendly 3D printer may be of help. Cheers Darius
  5. If you watch the video posted on the other thread you can see how it works. Cheers Darius
  6. Just the second DMBSO to complete and get primed. Then I can get started on final painting, glazing, decals, interiors and light weathering. Corridor connectors will be fitted after final painting. Cheers Darius
  7. The uncoupling feature is neat but I’ve already ordered and paid for my 31s from Accurascale. So there it is. Cheers Darius
  8. Those tubes atop the front wing are interesting - presumably profiled to “enhance “ the airflow? Cheers Darius
  9. I’m curious as to how this can happen if, in the meantime, the company has been wound up? Darius
  10. Well - it is a four coach unit and this is the fourth coach. Cheers Darius
  11. Thread drift now on to MOD procurement via legendary locomotive crews. Any “new” news on the original subject before the thread inevitably drifts to the price of RTR models or Taylor Swift or both? Cheers Darius
  12. Yes - just been perusing Hugh Longworth’s BR EMUs to 1975 and there is a diagram of the 4-RES Trailer Restaurant First showing just that arrangement. At the end of the day it is MTK and one does the best one can… Cheers Darius
  13. I think CM tooled a “standard 4-COR and then tooled RES, BUF and GRI coach bodies to swap in with the standard ones. Nuances like the modified Trailer First weren’t accounted for. Cheers Darius
  14. Interesting - the caption for that photo describes the trailer first carriage (located next to the Buffet/Griddle coach) as having a small saloon at the end adjacent to the Buffet/Griddle. MTK provides a Trailer Conposite bodyshell and not this Trailer First. Cheers Darius
  15. Second DMBSO started 😀 Cheers Darius
  16. Many thanks - I have that book and it’s a great picture. Also pictures of “standard” 4-COR units with SYPs on pages 15 and 18. Fantastic. Cheers Darius
  17. Thanks Flood - I have been referring to that website. It looks like the units went from all green to green with full yellow ends. I’ll have a look a my Southern EMU books to see if I can find anything. Cheers Darius
  18. Question: were these units ever finished in BR green with a small yellow panel? I can’t find any in-service photos of them in this livery - just a preserved unit (possibly an H&S requirement) and in model form. Cheers Darius
  19. Door furniture and buffer beams added. Primer on. Cheers Darius
  20. Chassis constructed. I used a spare Hornby motor bogie. Cheers Darius
  21. Mystery box arrived this morning 😀 Cheers Darius
