  2. ... and, of course, a scissors not-so-Standard Gangway is likely to behave differently from a suspended not-so-Standard Gangway ! 😕
  3. My clearest memory is, indeed, of the way the car bodies creaked and visibly racked every time the train started or stopped ........ they couldn't have lasted much longer.

  6. Indeed - but if you fail to uncouple the gangways before pulling the vehicles apart it's more than unlikely that the end of the Pullman-gangwayed vehicle would be pulled out however busy the tin worms had been.

  8. Not possible, I'm afraid - Pullman gangways are not 'coupled', as such, just held together by spring pressure.
  9. Hopefully they're metal that can be straightened on receipt - if necessary !

  11. Yeah - can't say I've heard of Stumec cranes before - but the last batch of S.R. bogie bolsters ( built in 1948 ) were equipped to take pairs of Robel cranes.

  14. 80975 is listed as allocated to Bristol in the Departmental Coaching Sock books for 1984, '85 & '87. ........ but it seems to have gained something like Scotrail livery in preservation, judging by the photos on https://www.departmentals.com/departmental/80975.

  17. I don't think I'll see Artificial Intelligence digging rare earths out of the Congo ( other impoverished countries are available ) without human assistance in my lifetime.
  18. So long as the human race remembers how to unplug it from the mains, AI can't take over completely !
