  1. A somewhat jaundiced perspective I would say from my experience.
  2. Bachmann have shared images of the forthcoming Graham Farish Class 350 and 450 EMUs. These images show the recently-received Livery Samples for the two announced models and the samples are now under review prior to being approved for production. Also... IMPORTANT INFORMATION – GRAHAM FARISH CLASS 319 EMUs As previously reported, following the release of the Graham Farish Class 319 EMUs last year, we discovered that the 3rd rail shoe beam had been omitted from one bogie on both the Network SouthEast and Thameslink models and that the TSOL vehicle of the Thameslink model had been incorrectly moulded. We are pleased to report that replacement bogies and bodies are now available, and these will be supplied free of charge to consumers who purchased either of these models. To claim a replacement Bogie (for the Network SouthEast model, item No. 372-875) or Bogie and Bodyshell (for the Thameslink model, item No. 372-876), consumers must contact the Bachmann Service Department by emailing: service@bachmann-europe.co.uk or by post: Service Department – Bachmann Europe Plc, Moat Way, Barwell, Leicestershire, LE9 8EY. All claims should include a proof of purchase and specify the name and address to which the replacement parts should be sent. Transpennine Express 350 South West Trains 450
  3. As covered in numerous topics we had a server drive failure 12 months ago which lost a lot of images.
  4. These are not sound reasons for forming a club; they appear to revolve around what your specific circumstances are. For that an existing club is the best resource, not starting from scratch to find some people who happen to live closer to you than an existing club. But you don't have the space; again an existing club will be better for you but you will have to go along with what they're doing rather than wanting them to do what you want. You don't necessarily need a model railway club for that; look to night classes and other groups. I hope you find a club that you'll be interested in; it really is the best way forward rather than trying to recruit people because of things and skills you don't have or have access to. See if you'll fit in rather than seeing they'll do what you want.
  5. Stop and think before any of this peripheral stuff - just why do you want to create a society?
  6. But you wanted to know why they're in the more down at heel peripheries of town. Model railways aren't big bucks and a retailer has to cut their cloth accordingly for what they can afford based on the profit they can make. They're not all in bad areas, Widnes Model Centre above is in a good town location and I know many others in pleasant rural locations - but they're often more costly than the edge of Dodgytown.
  7. Because prime high street locations are expensive.
  8. In a word, no. See if there's any interest first and don't try to build an empire - see if you can form a like-minded group and maybe take it from there, together.
  9. There was never a chance of a crowded platform there!
  10. If it's an Android phone install Google One and backup the apps and data to that. Restore onto the new (Android) phone.
  11. I did go specifically looking for that one Ben but it scrapes in on the basis of 4mm of ply forming the ground above a shallow-arched tunnel. It just doesn't look right.
  12. Some members seem to have received spurious and random messages offering items for sale off site. A couple of spammers got through the registration filtering system and have been removed. Please ignore and delete any such messages.
  13. He's not protesting about diesel emissions again is he?
  14. Some great stuff there for a smaller show.
  15. Every day I see something new that curls my toenails. ... in the middle of nowhere on a platform. Must be a chemical version as well as being out of context.
  16. Exactly this. Dodging the difficult is understandable but incorporating the ridiculous seems to be an objective in too many cases.
  17. Spams has been sniffing the Mekpak again.
  18. We had a server drive failure over 12 months ago causing the loss of many image files. There's plenty about it in various topics in the Forum faults subforum.
  19. That's brilliant, it brought its own rock to sit on.
  20. I don't have to; I don't work for Key. Maybe I then should point out you are complaining on a rival publisher's website rather than where you should be directing it. RMweb is not TripAdvisor.
  21. I am referring to a pirate copy. You may find it unacceptable but unfortunately it happens (as I've evidenced above) so it's understandable that they're trying to minimise unpaid for usage.
  22. Within 15 seconds of searching I found illegally copied pdfs of the current issue which could be downloaded (at a cost that wouldn't be going to Key).
