  1. Well that's good to hear Rob. My 6201 has buffers on an upwards lean, as have a few of my friends, otherwise the models are perfectly good.
  2. The front end of your 6201 doesn't seem to be pointing upwards which is a good thing. To anyone that has 46211 or 6212, is the front end of the loco level now or does it have an upwards lean like quite a lot of the first releases do?
  3. They'll eventually make one in LMS post war black, I think possibly even next year. Which one they select is the real question, a production batch or 6200/6201. Personally I'm super disappointed in the Rails/Hornby fiasco simply because I had the centenary Princess on order, I was going to backdate that model to 6200 in 1947 condition, lined black, domeless boiler.... hopefully that version of the prototype pair becomes available as a regular run in the future, no matter the livery.
  4. Hi Alan, it's crazy to think rtr has come this far isn't it? I model 1947 LMS so I'll be purchasing several models of 6212 to change in to some of the others that stayed Crimson Lake until the end. I'll most likely use Brassmasters Stanier draincocks for them anyway, but the Hornby ones are quite good castings.
  5. To clarify what i meant, The model of 6212 comes with the late BR modification of draincocks, shown in the picture Black Bear 5 linked in their post. These aren't the 3 pipes linked together like those provided on the model of 6201 which Hornby got right. So that's another thing Hornby got wrong on Duchess of Kent, though it's easily fixed.
  6. For anyone that has 6212, can they confirm the style of drain cocks? It should have the earlier style like what came with 6201, not the latter style that the picture Black Bear 5 posted a link too.
  7. Hi Farren, Do you have a link to the photo showing 6212 with makers plate on the front splasher? Of all the photos I have of her from new until WW2 (quite of few now I've checked) with 9 ton and10 ton tenders and both types of smokebox door, all of those have the makers plate near the running plate curve, as with all of the production batch. The prototype pair kept there's on the front splasher well in to BR (maybe they're whole lives?) Black 5's can be explained by different plants making them, all Princesses came from Crewe obviously.
  8. Just noticed one error on the model... it has two sets of works plates!
  9. So.... any pictures of the new releases from people that own them?
  10. Not doing 11 or Diesel Tom? You're an LNER man at heart, surely you could, no, should do No.4 as well?
  11. Interesting angle the cab roofs at....
  12. Surely they wouldn't tool up a new body, all metal, just for this small run? This limited edition crap is annoying, clearly there is quite a demand for this, make more.
  13. Upgraded 2P needs to happen for sure, huge hole in rtr for LMS modellers.
  14. So they are releasing sound fitted before the regular ones? Oh Bachmann...
  15. 250 Pounds for the Midland tanks?
  16. This is exactly why I'm giving Fox a go mate for my future lining and lettering in the future. HMRS is garbage now. Post war stuff is limited enough and I'm completely over the crap they are selling
  17. I know I speak for many LMS modellers here but boy a Long Firebox Jubilee and a Parallel Boilered Scot wouldn't go a miss
  18. Check out photos Baz and compare the bottom of a Jubilee Cab in comparison to the tender vs say a Black 5 to the tender. You'll see a clear difference.
  19. Any LMS modellers out there with 3d printers that want to start doing this sort of thing for us? Pretty please?
  20. In regards to close coupling, hopefully Hornby Will release the loco tender coupling from the new Princess, it's 100% better than the one on the Duchess and allows close coupling a lot easier.
  21. Just found this on the net, these are 7mm kits showing the difference between the two
  22. If you were to do the 3500 gallon Stanier tender I know I and a lot of LMS modellers would be very happy.
