  1. As mentioned else where it's a horrid website however here is the link:- https://www.wizardmodels.ltd/shop/locomotive/gwr-57xx-0-6-0pt-chassis-pack-lcp22/ Richard
  2. Sorry Ray, this not the sequence of events at all. When Meccano went bust the tools went to Triang who were approached by George Wrenn who asked if he could produce a small production of the Castle, 8F and 4MT, this was agreed. Much later Dapol to over the Tooling sometime in the 1990s. As for the missing tools I suspect that many stayed at Margate, indeed the Hornby stations were reissued in new colours to match Triang's own buildings. Richard
  3. Springside models and Modelu to name two, DJH and Lee Marsh may be worth looking at. Richard
  4. John The body tooling was done by Wrenn, one of the few new products made by them, and used the same underframe as the old HD cattle truck. Richard
  5. ABS sold them at one time under the name of Coachmaster, best of luck in getting them from him. Richard
  6. Ian The springs on the bogies are the wrong type, these are for passenger coaches, the type you need to have shorter (stiffer) leaf springs designed for full brakes and these vehicles. Richard
  7. Jon Have you looked on the GWR Association website http://www.gw-svr-a.org.uk/ Richard
  8. Ray I don't think so, Peco were making folded metal objects before the WWII. The coupling funded the development of PECO as we now know it, getting a healthy revenue from Hornby and later Trix. Richard
  9. Roger I think these might be tapped to a larger B.A. size of 10BA instead of 12BA, many people think the Slaters Crank-pins are under nourished and use new bolts with drilled out slaters components. Look at this link http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/29221-o-gauge-crankpins/ Richard
  10. Roger In what way do the crank-pins do not fit?, if you mean that the holes are too small then it's a simple task to drill the wheel as it's a plastic centre. Other crank-pins are available but they are larger in their diameter (I think) The other question you ask are they Romford - No, the only 0 gauge wheels they make are wagon/coach wheels. Richard
  11. You stated in your original post that you bought it second-hand how can Hornby rip you off ? Richard
  12. Here is a link to a lovely picture at Bristol Temple Meads of No.11 https://www.flickr.com/photos/brizzlebornandbred/34508791632/in/album-72157615301224674/ Richard
  13. Just a clever marketing ploy to sell more Wheel sets otherwise you have two left over!! Richard
  14. Norman If they are made in china it is unlikely to be a B.A. thread, I suggest metric fine of that size. Richard
  15. The tunnel is right in the middle of big geological fault and was filled with concrete, and whole cliff and retaining wall was pinned back to prevent the whole lot falling into the River Avon. Richard
  16. Paper templates are available from Tower Models website, although strangely not from PECO themselves. Should take the guessing and speculation out of those planning their layouts. Richard
  17. Nothing to do with the bogie design, that was sorted in the first few months out of Swindon. The reason for the 1950s withdrawn from service was frame fatigue, and front half was renewed at Swindon. Richard
  18. Mike Where does it say dia 039 all the references I have seen are dia 044, which are completely different opens. Richard
  19. Another film of 16 tonners (6 different train loads) in the 1960s Richard
  20. There is good photograph of a 42xx leaving Bristol Temple Meads by Ben Brookbanks excellent site - https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File%3ABristol_Temple_Meads_geograph-2542324-by-Ben-Brooksbank.jpg Richard

    Dapol 08

Hereford Model Centre also have them at the discounted price.
  22. Stephen The diameter of the trailing wheels also varied between members of this class, the BR black model has the larger size, the green with the smaller diameter shows up more clearly in the photographs. Richard
  23. Andrew The Connecting Rods as supplied in the kit are too short (2mm), I was going to tell Geoff but as he was not well I didn't want to cause him any more stress. I understand the new owner Andrew is aware of the problem. Richard
  24. Hi if you go to the Hornby website and find the King class this will lead you to the service sheet HSS416 and you will see the decoder position is in the tender. Richard
  25. Hornby to my knowledge have never done a Duchess in the Railroad range, they have issued the Black 5, A3, and A4 but not the Duchess. Richard
