  1. What does the panel think of using swede (that'll be neep to viewers up top, but who cares as they're rutabagas anyway) in a veg curry?

The Mrs has gone off to meet her daughter in Malta for 10 days and left loads of veg that isn't pies, sausages, white bread or chips and I'm bu99ered if I know what to do with it!

And if you’ve got any left over then you might as well drop the rest off by Glastonbury Tor. We are in the harvest after all.

  3. Well, Bilsdale TV mast has gone up in smoke so I can get in with some modelling while Mrs WF is watching Emmerdale on her tablet.

A landmark I’m well acquainted with, having gone up the A170 from Thirsk towards Helmsley up Sutton Bank countless times and always seeing the mast. I may be crossing wires here but doesn’t it provide 4G as well, which then covers most of the North York Moors?

I’ve heard that being in the bath is a great opportunity to plan new layouts. Something about being awash with ideas.

It’s worse when friends of yours, who you had previously thought to be fairly sensible people, take to posting unfounded conspiracy theories on social media.

Love the Red Arrows - seen them twice but only when they were passing overhead and not emitting coloured smoke.

  10. Hi Robin,

Thank you for that reply .

I have made an enquiry about a 2m x 1m x 3mm closed cell Neoprene sheet and will report back on my experience if I ever build a layout. At the moment I do not even have a baseboard; we can but dream .

BTW According to the web [ so it must be true ] closed cell affords less sound attenuation but greater structural integrity than open cell which has the converse characteristics .

    Yors Aye, wpslo .

  11. I don’t mind ad’s on RMweb, as it brings in income.  But i’ve just had an ad pop up that would have led me to a scam! Saying i’d won an Amazon fire pad! Be careful people.

  12. getting down with Emojis could get you into trouble.... a member of my team messaged me saying a member of her family had passed away and she would be sorting out things for next few days.  Thinking "i get this emoji" lark i pressed the "heart" button which on here means "friendly supportive" but it turns out on my work comms account means "i love what you just said"... a quick follow up apology was sent to assure her i am not the most insensitive boss of the century... damnit i think i'll just stick with words

  16. It’s not everyday a Tornado jet roars over you at only 200 metres...

    1. Liam

      Liam

This Typhoon was probably lower than 200 metres actually, possibly 150. Everyone was speechless for several minutes afterwards!

Just as well none of those pilots ever fired anything at the weather station...

What a fantastic sight! I reckon the pilot of this Typhoon was finding a convenient location to turn around and head back north, and as YO62 is on the northern side of a valley he probably decided to entertain everyone on the ground while doing so. Truly astonishing.

Ah, it was probably a Typhoon then. Aircraft recognition has never been a skill of mine. You should have heard it roar and then swerve back round!

I’m guessing they are people who are defending products that cause great division among railway modellers. I don’t really mind what Hornby do or do not produce, but just wish that their products wouldn’t cause so many arguments.

Brownies fresh out of the oven and with a dollop of whipped cream is more agreeable still.
