  1. A closer look at the couplings makes me wonder if it is an N gauge model (have they got a Black Five yet?) Or could it be an unrebuilt Patriot/Royal Scot?
  2. It's really coming along nicely Larry. Will there be some grazing sheep in some of the fields, and perhaps even a speaker playing 'baaa' sounds continuously? Cheers,
  3. I think the lineside security arrangements might need to be reviewed Phil, as when the TTGSYP 47 was idling in the loop a 'roof rider' appears to have clambered aboard one of the box vans.
  4. So we've done all the compass points, but we haven't done all things Scottish. So here's a Scotrail 158 heading south towards Inverness past Kinbrace on the Far North Line, August 2016.
  5. You'd have a lot of trouble drinking it though, drinking it out of pint glasses 7mm in height!
  6. A GBRF/Caley sleeper 92 at the buffers at Euston, December 2016. And now, if we 'sprint' up the WCML we see a pair of London Midland 350s at Tamworth, April 2016.
  7. Wow Alex, what an amazing model! I can just imagine myself 76 times smaller and sat outside the Valley suite. But £750, well, that's a tad out of my price range.
  8. On 24th September 2016, during the Pacific Power event at the Severn Valley last year, LNER A1 no. 60163 'Tornado' nears Highley with the 10 coach Gresley teak rake, bound for Kidderminster.
  9. I wish I'd known that such a theme was coming up, then last week I could have taken a picture of the warehouse from the pull-down window whilst roaring past on a HST!

  11. LMS Ivatt 4MT no. 43106 approaches Highley on a footplate experience train, April 2017.
  12. Agree about ECoS! After GWSR I was very tempted to go that way myself but the price was a little off putting . . . It must feel a little odd bumbling along in a Wickham trolley on a main line such as the Birmingham to Bristol line. I went in one a few years ago from Bewdley to Foley Park tunnel during the winter maintenance season on the SVR. Quite fun, but a bit of a squeeze with 8 in the back seating section!
  13. That's right Scott, and I knows because I have been in the 'box! The rodding then continues under some 'slits' beneath the platform. Should you need any more photos or photos of the interior, I know someone who's training for Arley 'box and someone else who's passed out for it.
  14. A Great Western loco in Great Western territory: GWR '45XX' no. 4566 sits at the end of platform 2 at Kidderminster on the evening of the 24th October 2016.
  15. About 200 miles south east of the last pic, but most definitely still the north! LMS 'Black Five' no. 44806 enters Levisham on the NYMR with the diner on 9th October 2016.
  16. Class 37 no. 37403 'Isle of Mull' leaves Ravenglass on 24th August this year, bound probably for Barrow-in Furness. Although they look best on the WHL and Far North Line, the livery doesn't look bad in Cumbria.

Ah, the Kingfisher Shopping Centre, see what you did there. Is there a video of the layout at the exhibition at all?
  18. There's a perfectly simple explanation - that mug represents one of the small coffee shops, and the height of the mug represents how extortionate the NEC prices are.
  19. But back then she was doing the work she was designed for - main line expresses out of Waterloo. She wasn't designed for hauling seven or eight coach trains along a Worcestershire/Shropshire branch line with speed restrictions of 25mph. But the Manors are perfect for the line, as they are well-suited to branch lines (such as Machynlleth to Pwllheli) and have a large haulage capacity.

  21. As it's gone 9:30 and no one's come up with a suggestion may I suggest photos taken in the last week? To start off, here's the scene at Highley yesterday afternoon at our Autumn Steam Gala. That's 'P' class 'Bluebell' on the left and the train on the right was hauled by 'Manor' no. 7812 'Erlestoke Manor'.
  22. Although I wasn't down to do a shift, I went along anyway to the gala. So having arrived by train (and after visiting Footplate) I started at Kidderminster: Y14 564 took me to Bewdley, where I met some pals then continued to Highley behind my favourite SVR loco, GWR 'Manor' no. 7812 'Erlestoke Manor'. At Highley I had a very short ride behind 'Prince'. The brick wall next to the gate of the Engine House car park had a large crack in it - apparently this was caused when Prince failed to stop in time and rolled into the wall. Just before Repton arrived, the P left the goods loop heading south, with the recently refurbished SR brake van. Then Repton came in, but was about 40 minutes late leaving:
  23. The loco I'm being hauled by right now (photo taken an hour ago):
