  1. One I spotted last year while staying in Perthshire:
  2. I was in a shopping centre when a shoplifter rushed by with several packets of chocolate digestives, being pursued by a security guard who cornered him. "Of all the things I've seen," the security guard said, "this takes the biscuit!"
  3. Hi Rob What are the dimensions of your layout? Cheers,
  4. visited the Swindon and Cricklade Railway today, and came away with a nice overcoat ready for when I start firing (only cost me £5 as well) ;)

  5. The Old Man of Hoy - Scottish traditional
  6. Are you using a ballast spreader Scott? Can save a lot of time using one of those. Oh yes, and now there's spreaders for the water/PVA/washing up liquid mix!
  7. She's Leaving Home - The Beatles (a sad song, I know)
  8. Yes, I don't read MRJ but still might be tempted to adapt my exhibition layout that I'm planning so it could be considered an entry in the competition. And as for Iain Rices book (which currently I don't have) after the competition one still might be persuaded to take inspiration from the book for future layout ideas.
  9. That doesn't sound completely alien to me . . . Ted: He's insulted me. What shall we do with him? Campers: Throw him in the pool! Ted: Shall we? Campers: Yes! All: 1, 2, 3! (Spike gets drenched) And now it's back to Abbotswood Junction . . .
  10. Birmingham New Street to Five Ways is 74 chains, though there are the tunnels between them and there's probably a shorter distance somewhere.
  11. I finally picked up my copy today. Yes, I could have waited a few days for the next edition but Barmouth Junction is a stunning layout not to be missed. However, I couldn't help but notice a few pesky typos, like putting 'go' when it should say 'got' and labelling 'Corwenna' as O Gauge. I'm guessing this was more likely to happen in transit, but I was rather surprised to find that somehow the Tail Lamp page had been ripped, and in a near dead straight line! Anyway, moan over, it's a very good read. Phil's article on making the water will certainly come in handy.
  12. I don't think anyone's mentioned the Stourbridge shuttle, Junction to Town. And I don't think Tamworth to Lichfield TV is that far either.
  13. ENOUGHHH!!!!!!!!!!!! *buries head in hands*
  14. Today was the first time I popped in to Footplate for at least six years! Because I was visiting during the layover time at Kidderminster it was just a whistle-stop visit, but Derek was very friendly, and now I am reconnected to Footplate after all these years!
  15. Saturday Night Fever - The Bee Gees
  16. Ah yes, I noticed them the other day. I also noticed some N Gauge reduced stock, including some weathered 16 tonners at £8.50. If only they were in 00 gauge . . .
  17. Take A Chance On Me - ABBA EDIT Just realised its been posted before!
  18. has just heard that London Midland have lost the West Midlands franchise.

No more free travel to Warley for me then... :-(

  19. http://www.hattons.co.uk/164424/Hornby_R3415_Class_J15_0_6_0_65477_in_BR_Black_with_early_emblem/StockDetail.aspx So here goes . . . I'm not an ER man, but as there's only one place that I've seen this being sold for cheaper (Hornby Sales at Warley last year) this seems a good price.
  20. Hi Alex I don't know when you'll see this, but as its the summer holidays are you open on Wednesdays? Cheers Liam
  21. In that case how about we keep this going until tomorrow morning, and then see how far we've got?
  22. 90048 at London Euston, ready to depart with the Lowland Sleeper, December 2016. (Sorry the photo has been repeated)
