    LNER B17 part 5

    well another quick update had time to get some of the decals done on the b17 although had a few miss haps! but redone the numbers on one side just got the otherside of the tender to do!
    so took some slightly better photo`s this afternoon! in day light.

    well sorry for no news for ages its been a long time as been busy with lots of other things but got a couple of new builds going now so hope to do a few more posts! and finally been able to log in after months of not being able to???? anyway shot below shows Golden arrows southern Q class on the work bench!
    should have some more news soon!

    Just a quick update q class is now back on the go! new chimney has been found & a set of buffers so will be adding new photos soon! hopefully will have a running loco awaitting paint!!! we shall see.

    9f building again!

    well started doing another 9f upgrade/conversion on a Hornby railroad 9f turning this into another tyne dock loco its a slow project so far but getting there just need a few more bits to upgrade certain parts so just took a photo of the work done at the mo.

    well sorry for the lack of updates been very busy - but just thought id put a final pic up on the garratt this has now gone to run in the USA !!!!! yes folks im not joking so maybe end up with no2 garratt starting at some point soon with newer chassis in! but we will have to see!
     

     
    hopefully will have some new loco builds soon as working on a few new projects!

    Hi folks just another quick update as ive been working on the garratt again most of this week its had a few bits sorted out and a bit more paint its also had the first bits of weathering done so now just got to put decals on and finish off!!
    just did a quick test run after cleaning off some paint off the wheels so took a quick vid! please note this is in no way finished yet and is triang based so all you finescalers out there look the otherway! its been made to go round most peoples trainset!/railway and so far has done so! more testing to come over the weekend!
     
    anyway enjoy the vid and sorry for the camera work and lighting but its difficult trying to do everything on your own! run the train and film at the same time!!!!

    quick update still weathering the garratt delayed due to rain! and transfers run out over the weekend so ordered some more from fox and hey presto they turn up this morning! thanks again to fox transfers for another quick turn round!
    anyway got a few mins this afternoon after putting on the numbers to take a quick pic! its not finished yet so don`t go rushing in making odd comments its a work in progress shot!

    well folks its along time since I posted on my rm blog as been very busy doing lots of other things but just been able to make aquick update vid on the garratt project which was started last year! this is still a working project although please note its not a finescale model ! as this was done out of triang and later Hornby components as a test build to see how we could motorise the kitmaster model!
    so here is a quick vid ive done today its not long but you get the idea!
    thanks to all those who helped before.
    more news to follow shortly once ive got a little further if the weather stays ok I may get round to more painting with the airbrush!

    well folks I forgot to post these up I think!? so thought id put the final z class pics up as its gone down south to run on another layout now! so all ive got to do when I get some spare time is make another one for my own fleet!!!!!!!

    tyne dock 9f now redone and new pipes added and scale coupling! been and donesome moreweathering in the shed tonight on it! so took a couple of quick pics! it now going for sale as need to pay a few bills !

    9f update!

    well as I said earlier we had a tender drive issue but had it to bits this afternoon and replaced the main cog with a brass one and cleaned it all put a spot of oil on and its as good as ever!
     
    also put the cab numbers on and did a small amount of weathering to the cab so ive took a couple of pics so here you go



     
    sadly though this ones now up for sale so hopefully it will pay for some bills!

    well had a very good weathering session in the painting shed this afternoon! so thought all was going well and said right i`ll put the 9f to ones side and go and paint some toysoldiers for an order ive got to do then I will put me numbers on the 9f! well got it all ready and decided to do a test run after weathering! and yes it ran sort of! so sorted the bent valve gear thought great then the tender drive exploeded gears off etc! so went back to triang tender drive MK1 version runs ok with this so now got to either find a way to rebuild the mk2 later tender drive unit or use the trusty Mk1 triang one! oh the fun of thinking this will be a quick fun job to do!
    so took a couple of pics! and a quick tip before you spray weathering around the chassis put a spot of oil on the slide bars and conections etc on a small amouint is needed that way it helps not to gum it up!
     
    anyway here`s a couple of pics and sorry for the typing but its nearly 1am in the morning!:blink:

    well folks had a small amount of time to do some weathering when i was up the shed earlier this afternoon, so the z class is getting the basic tones put on as ive not got alot of transfers to put on its getting alot of work done up front! Iknow this may seem odd but its going the right way for the mo.
    anyway just took a couple of pics tonight in the kitchen so excuse the honey jar!

    again while I had the paint to hand this afternoon I did some basic block coats on the 9f it needs alot more work to get fully covered but had to stop due to a rain shower so decided to put it in the drying area and take a quick pic!

    well folks its been another busy weekend so running behinde on railway stuff but today got time to sort out a bit of priming on the z class its only had a couple of flash coats asive been doing this in between the rain showers and sorting a load of toysoldiers!
    anyway still alot of tidying up to do before it hits the paint it will get another rubdown and re do on primer then into matt black!
    anyway took a couple of pics its not attached to the chassis it was just a quick shot from the dryer!

    well more bits have gone on the z class over the last few days its got more winky bits than a 9f! so im only going so far with this one as I want to get it in paint this weekend and im without the other bits so it going to have to do for now!

    well im getting through this rebuilt crosti fairly well at the moment so took another pic late on yesterday still a bit to finish which hopefully may get some more done on friday as this weekend im working on the buses!
    well sunday i am! also been bashing some resin out of an em2 as well! but thats for another story!

    well folks I finaly got to looking at the garratt over the weekend although still no further forward yet with the chassis choice so I will soon start pulling it to bits and sorting it out with new detail on the body got to replace some of the plastic hand rails!
    well its a start and Ive took a few pics as well before work starts!

    some of you may not have seen this one although it is on my youtube video`s!
    anyway here`s the newer version of the Hornby 9f from the railroad range! with a resin crosti body on this one is done as a rebuilt version!
     

     
    so there you go an updated version!
    this ones now running on bills layout 92026 was a birkenhead loco!in its last few years
    my current one will be another birkenhead one 92020 but this currently has the older Hornby triang chassis!

    Hi folks well ive got a kitmaster garratt on the way to me so soon i will be trying some ideas out, but just wanted to ask a quick question has anyone recently put a motor in one of these ie a ready to run chassis?
    if so drop me a reply or pm and let me know what you think I will try and do some pics soon and there will be an update vid posted onto you tube!
    the other stuff is on its way later this week from chris at golden arrow! so hang on for Z class news and more crosti 9fs!

    just had a bit more time to do some more on the pug still got to sort steps out and finish chassis so thats going to be sometime over the weekend hopefully!

    just a quick update photo now have chimney! thanks to a GBL model!
    and also have a set of buffers(thanks to brown.sauce/flee bay) so thought id do a quick update on the "Q"
    before anyone jumps in & comments! this is being made up as is from what bits i can get hold of and from my own stash because as we know model shops have not been interested in selling bits or scale items for years so its a case of use what i can to make it look as near as possible to make a cost effective model.
    so take heed people before you post a comment it is after all railway modelling not cheque book modelling.
