  1. Very tasteful The theme or this cakebox and the fun factor is great, and that’s what this hobby is all about.
  2. Alex that looks like a useful piece of kit you have designed and it will make things easier while soldering.
  3. It’s great to know you got rid of the cheapo lights and bought some better ones. I like the single lamps myself. The balloon idea is a great addition and your pictures of the layout in the garden are really nice.
  4. Stuey your weathering of the wagons looks good to me.
  5. It’s always great to get some track down, looks really good.
  6. Hi Marly51. It’s great to see that you have completed this cakebox challenge and it’s a wonderful looking layout with some really nice modelling. I to like to take my time when creating a model.
  7. Johna card kits are great fun to build, looking forward to seeing your next update.
  8. Hi today I have been busy building the yard crane for my layout. Painting and weathering the crane has been completed and is secured in place. I have painted up some oil drums and weathered them and are in place on my layout. More to do by adding a couple of wall lamps, a lorry and some yard workmen.
  9. Nice start johna, it’s amazing what can be achieved with a simple tuning fork layout.
  10. Hi Marly51 look forward to seeing this cakebox completed as I like to follow your railway modelling.
  11. Hi kevo those are stunning pictures of your micro layout. The modelling and attention to detail is brilliant.
  12. Thanks Spotlc for you kind comments. Thanks for all the likes.
  13. Hi Nick I usually use a grey primer before the proper paint is applied. I’m looking forward to seeing your embankment diorama progress.
  14. You have a very nice selection of HOe models and all from different countries.
  15. Hi faded_Glory thanks for your nice comment, still more to complete.
  16. More progress today on my micro layout. The grass has been completed but just need to add a few small wild flowers. Pallets and sacks have been painted and fixed in place, also a few railway sleepers have been added. I have a couple of oil drums to paint up and a couple of sleepers with chains will be added to the layout as I don’t want to use normal buffer stops, apart from that I will be waiting to order a crane and a lorry for the loading area. I hope you like my latest pictures.
  17. This is looking brilliant, the attention to detail is excellent and I like the planting you have done in the colour of the french flag.
  18. Hi TechnicArrow! Thanks for the lovely comments. Funny enough I was thinking about using a couple of railway sleeps with chains the other day. It’s a change from the normal buffer stops. Thanks to everyone for the likes it means a lot to me.
  19. This has happened to me quite a lot in the past. My railway modelling is always kept small. I favour building small dioramas from different eras and themes. Also you don’t loose interest and I think it helps to develop your modelling skills.
  20. This is a great looking layout with some excellent modelling and attention to detail.
  21. Mike this is fantastic modelling, I like the way you have fitted a motor and battery to your vented vans.
  22. Paul I have just caught up with you build thread of the ironstone avonside. The etched kits do look really good and you have done a marvellous job on building your loco.
  23. Hi Alex you have done a really nice job on the Janus, great modelling and detail. I look forward to seeing this shelfie develop.
  24. Work progressed a little further on my micro layout. The ballast has set so I started to add clumps of grass where it would grow in a yard. I managed to scrounge some tiny flowers from my wife’s flower display schhhh Which has turned out really well. On the opposite loading area I have added a fence and a gate which I am pleased with. I need to source a couple of buffer stops which will be cut down. more to follow. Waiting for building supplies to arrive to add to the goods yard.
