  1. A few pics of some of the locos on the line yesterday. There were two 8F's in steam plus a BR Standard 5. We rode behind the 8F's during our two trips up and down the line.
  2. Some of the new A4 body shells on display on Hattons stand at GCR yesterday.
  3. A couple of snaps of "Flying Scotsman" in LNER & BR guise on display on Hattons stand at GCR yesterday.
  4. Very enjoyable show. I took my wife with me for the first time to a show and she actually enjoyed it! I just bought a selection of embossed brick paper, as with several new O gauge locos hitting the market later this year I need to save some pennies. My wife now wants to the buy the new Bachmann GCR OO gauge buildings to do a model of Ruddington which is my home village. Sad news about the thefts. Cheers, Ade.
  5. OO is little to me being a 7mm guy. Going to see what might fit on some plywood I have spare..
  6. I am from Ruddington and this is the same design as the old lost station I remember as a small child ....this could tempt me to do a little OO gauge layout.... Cheers, Ade.
  7. Arrived this evening and got set up at our camp site just down the road from Quorn station. Cheers, Ade.
  8. Hi Mike, enjoyed our chat tonight at work. Glad you called in. Cheers, Ade.
  9. Saw this on the saleroom wall at work last night and thought I would share it here. Cheers, Ade.
  10. My wife and I are off to the show this Friday evening. We have a motorhome and have booked to stay at the farm next door the Quorn & Woodhouse station. So this is ideal for us. Cheers, Ade.
  11. Had not planned on starting the 16ton Toad kit yet, but a wet day has changed my plans. Got parts cut out from the fret and had a go a forming the rivetts on the solebars.
  12. Shame it could not be sold whole, but good luck with the new project! Cheers, Ade.
  13. I managed to pop in for an hour to the show while Lez was in Sainsbury's. You are correct Steve. It is Ian's old layout. Cheers, Ade.
  14. South Wales & Cannock Chase Coal wagon with an interior shot.
  15. Here is the LMS 7 plank wagon with new removeable real coal load.
  16. I have done some extra weathering on some of the wagons. These had already being airbrushed as seen in some earlier pics in this thread. I have now used Agrax Earthshade to the interiors plus a bit of drybrushing and then applied some weathering powders by MIG. Here is a before and after shot of the Underwood private owner wagon in as purchased condition and now fully weathered.
  17. Thanks Martin. We do plan on going again so we can arrange something in the future.
  18. I am lucky that my layout will only require three signals.
  19. I could have spent thousands....lots of really nice kit there. Good job I left the credit card at home too!
  20. Met up with George T and Ian for breakfast at Doncaster show today. Always nice to meet up. Picked up the 16 ton Toad Brake Van kit off Jim McGowan today. Also got some Slaters wheels and some extra soldering kit plus some Stay Alive capacitors for the DCC locos. (More work for Andy P!) So a very nice day all in all. The builder should be making a start on the log cabin base this next week. Here are a couple of snaps from Llangollen last weekend. We bought a day rover ticket and spent Sunday riding the trains. The BR Standard 4 tank and the Large Prairie were in steam. Picked up Martyn Welsh's book on weathering while I was there off one of the stalls for a couple of quid. Had a great time. Cheers, Ade.
  21. I very much enjoyed the show. Luckily I arrived just after 9am so parking was not an issue and headed off to Asda for a cuppa before the show opened at 10am. Came home with some goodies.
  22. Very clever indeed. You amaze me with you craftsmanship.
  23. A couple of snaps of the prototype on Minerva's stand today at Doncaster.
