  1. I can live with that. I'd have liked to see the Hawksworth County get a new tool. But the Clan is nice
  2. Indeed. I wonder if it's new tooling or a re-issue. hard to tell
  3. Not long now. I have a feeling they are doing a partial retool of the Merchant Navy the more I think about it. They're probably just going to tool the missing tenders and reuse the loco tool. I just have that feeling...
  4. "Everybody wants something but there's nothing for them..."
  5. Oh don't tempt me. Could easily drop some bulleid wheels into a Hornby p2 chassis
  6. That's all the motivation I need. No I just need to go looking for some worthy candidates to hack up
  7. I just did a quick google search about this loco and it turns out Matt Wickham 3D printed one for the Hornby chassis. Might see if he's willing to print me one.
  8. Now isn't that something. Not sure I could pull it off but I'll add it my list of things to try out. Right after I finish my overhead electric A4
  9. So one of the light pacifics then. Don't suppose you know where I could check if they ever thought of using caprotti?
  10. I'm actually looking into the idea of creating a caprotti bulleid now. So much for my new years resolution. What are we thinking though? What springs to mind? Air smoothed or rebuilt, west country or merchant navy... Decisions decisions.
  11. Makes you wonder if someone was just asked to shift a lot of the stored stock if that's the case. Looks to me like it's all Hornby stock which does lend to that idea. If there was anything by other manufacturers that'd add some weight to the model shop returns theory. He's got some useful stuff on there, I'll give him that.
  12. Again, a good theory. It'd certainly explain the mangled valve gear on some of those chassis. But I can't see a manufacturer throwing away serviceable chassis when the broken bits can be replaced. Thinking of snapping up one of his Duke of Gloucester chassis to make a caprotti Merchant Navy mentioned on the imaginary loco's thread. Beats some of the prices I've seen for loco's in similar condition.
  13. Sounds possible. It would certainly explain where it's a lot of recent Hornby, most of which look like ex trainset items. But still, there's a lot of broken loco's in there. Good source of spares though...
  14. Not sure if this seller has been mentioned before but here we are. https://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/optimaldavey?_trksid=p2047675.l2559 Not exactly mad himself, but what is mad is how everything he has is equally damaged. Where does he get it all?
  15. Thanks. Doesn't exactly say what it is though, but it does look like a 5250
  16. No there's something I wouldn't mind cobbling together
  17. I agree and you know why we're going to get the missing tender types? Because the one I've ordered is getting it's tender cut up to represent the 5250 gallon type. Sometimes you need to invoke sods law to get something done
  18. You mentioning mazak rot has just got me thinking... I think we are getting a retool on the rebuilt merchant navy. Why? Because I just bought one... Set to arrive on the 6th, one day after the reveal. Calling it now
  19. Sorry to go digging up an old thread but does anyone know what tender 35006 is currently running with? I can't seem to find anything online...
  20. I have one of the older Lima tooled Hornby models so wouldn't mind a modern one
  21. Don't know if I have the december issue, will have to have a look when I get home. And yes, to go along with a certain 16xx when they become available
  22. Indeed. A potential project of mine would have been to combine a Hall Chassis with County body but I 've held off just in case. Another class I'm hoping for beside the Saint though is a 2021 pannier... Take a guess as to why
  23. Had a feeling we'd had one at some point.
  24. Yes and No... We've had the county more recently than we've had a saint in RTR. I don't know we've ever had a saint in RTR, correct me if I'm wrong
  25. Maybe we can expect a re-run of them then?
