  1. Neutral is a term I would use for almost every transaction I make , I just can’t get excited about buying things! Positive seems excessive to me rather like many supermarket online surveys of which you can’t answer half the questions because you only bought what you needed!
  2. The problem is ginger rhymes with whinger and is a gift to sloppy journalists!
  3. How about the authentic experience of sending them to the station entrance for a rail replacement bus!
  4. Or even produce a single as used in Scotland in passenger trans/or the later modified ones as supertench or even the twinsets used for track panels.
  5. When my parents got their phone it was two weeks too late for a four digit number with a three digit area code and now its a four digit code with a seven digit number! There were local dialing codes to make calls at local rate to the next area!
  6. It amazes me that some people have lived so long especially crossing a road but quite often the sheep principle applies and they follow blindly!
  7. No one remembers success but failure is rarely forgotten or forgiven!
  8. The same goes for fridge management of storing uncooked/raw food above the cooked and ready to eat!
  9. It was explained to me that some rch drawings were more this is what you can have rather than what was actually built! Mix and match the fittings and parts you require to suit your needs and what the builder was offering!
  10. You could tell as the roll out of power doors became more commonplace, the East Coast trains having fewer HST’s that required passengers to open and close doors. The ability of people to open the doors to get off was fine but closing them was certainly not something they could do and you could watch trains loose two minutes at almost every station. The late evening ones were particularly affected and from personal observation it was younger passengers were the worst!
  11. Ask Bob Carolgees about it as he was told they were poached!
  12. It only seems like yesterday but in reality wasn’t waxing diesel in winter conditions did the same.
  13. The short term bean counters get their way again and on a whole the political appointees can’t see beyond the next election!
  14. In the finest British tradition kick the can down the road and then blame everyone else for the mess!
  15. If things stay like this there’ll be no change!
  16. There was a Modern Railways article on TCFD not long after it opened!
  17. The public should be shown the costs Ryan air style, this is the cost of your railway and this is the extra costs for a tunnel here , trees here!
  18. The pellets can be found in many places , Boldon North jct, Gateshead High Street and Tyne Yard still have deposits.
  19. The problem is VAT at current prices takes a sixth of the price off, then depreciation depending on condition and box; followed by fashion and has someone released a more desirable version since? Selling at and or buying at auction attracts fees to the auction house!
  20. The signal is the gate, red light by night and disc by day! Aiskew is now AOCL but must have had similar in the past as the line crosses at an angle!
  21. I think Stanlow was doing Traction Gas Oil and we’re also supplying lube oil for Gateshead, Heaton and Cambois. CM&EE stores such as sand would come in air braked vans for the depots, Heaton had a dedicated road with platform access next to the stores when rebuilt for HST’s.
  22. Meanwhile in Australia they are having similar cost overruns! From the new IRJ.
