  2. Please remember that these are "Diagram books" for loading rather than drawings for modelling from, please take care if using for modelling purposes. Some are better than others! Mark Saunders
  3. Two major ones are:- The Shell Refinery at Teesport, the Junction is still called Shell junction and the bridge over the Wilton branch still bears the Shell logo. Leeds Oil Rail Terminal on the Hunslett East branch from Neville Hill. Other ones are:- Killingholme Admiralty oil wharfe near Immingham, it was vintage with brick built storage tanks. Greetland junction. Appleby's at Harrogate and Scarborough, these were supplied by a block train from Stanlow that ran to York with it splitting in three portions, one for Harrogate, one for Scarborough and Heavy Fuel oil for Cleveland Potash at Boulby (another lost terminal). Various terminals in the former ICI plant at Wilton. Mark Saunders
  4. It was a BR standard and was orriginally at Cottesmore but I understand it is now on the Nene Valley Mark Saunders
  5. The NCB Ashington system had a small fleet at the end of which several are preserved! Also NCB at Westoe had a van along with Burradon. British Steel also had two at Scunthorpe of which one is preserved. Mark Saunders
  6. Rumour machine on Teesside says to expect SSI to obtain GM's similar to these for Redcar/Lackenby? Mark Saunders
  7. Hartlepool has two mills and used to recieve coil eye to sky on endless BBA's from Lackenby prior to the closure of the coil mill there. After that it recieved coil on BCA, BLA and BZA (recoded BAA with gunshot cradles)from South Wales. It seems to have accepted wide steel plate on BMA/BNA for quite some time but I am not sure if it is a regular traffic? Mark Saunders
  8. A note on internal ballast wagons at Tata ex BSC Scunthorpe Last September I saw no ex Grant Rail ballast hoppers either Walrus or Procor PGA but there were two Sealion present! I suspect it is since Grant Rail became wholly owned by Volker (hence the rebranding on their track machines). Mark Saunders
  9. If you have a problem with published data them get yourself along to a real example with your tape measure. There are several preserved! Mark Saunders
  10. Lafarge at Grays may have been the customer, they were still taking alumina by road in the late 80's/ early 90's. Mark Saunders
  11. The old Aifix kit is quite good for it's age but really needs updating, the Solebar and brake lever are poor but it can be tarted up! Mark Saunders
  12. not sure if you meant the Airfix RTR 20t tank which is a class A see attached, ex iu Grangemouth. Mark Saunders
  13. From memory the overhead appears very similar to tram wires and I read somewhere that the South Shields corperation tram wires were acquired by the NCB for the system after the demise of the corperation trams. Mark Saunders
  14. I was sent this today, it was Green and had a part repaint! Hattons have changed the description of the BSC one. Mark Saunders
  15. Hattons have announced one in British Steel Blue livery has any one seen this livery? Mark Saunders
  16. For those thinking of buying at Hattons note the price of these go up next week unless ordered before the price rises! Mark Saunders
  17. As a matter of interest Barry, do you know if the BSCO 40xx were originally Dia 1/420, and possibly visited SRW for modification, or just a "knock off" of the BR Ashford design ? The SRW built ones appear to be a copy of the BR diagram, however I am not sure about the stanchions! Mark Saunders
