  1. We're these used in Southern Region for bricks produced there does anybody know ?
  2. Just to add I haven,t bought any KR items yet because they,re outside my interest. Have been watching the Leader and Bullied DD with interest but have been holding off to see something more concrete. Now with the attitude of the email not sure I will bother at all. So one potential customer put off.
  3. Is that a guaranteed increase in price ?
  4. Bachmann already do the C class so 01 is a better bet and still one in existence.
  5. Perhaps the email reflects his skills at checking things properly. Most people if they want to get rid of stock offer 10% or 15 % discount for a few days not less than 10% if you buy 2 ! I think he also forgets that people had just had an unfortunate experience with another I.m wonderful modeller etc, Rather compares with Accurascale and Rapido which seem to take note of people's comments without getting too upset.
  6. Unless someone had accepted the sample like that and approved for production, then the factory would have to pass it as it was to customer spec. Customer gives wrong spec then manufacturer by contract will supply to that spec.
  7. Welcome back Calne, a nice little friendly show, had a pleasant time there today.
  8. Spend £100 and get a free Dan ?!!!!
  9. It actually looks as if it is around what Bachmann would charge for something similar looking at recent releases.
  10. Seems to regularly late. At one stage we subscribed to Airfix World and Hornby Magazine. AIRFIX was nearly always on time or early whereas Hornby of late has often been late, I think the explanation I was given was that the Hornby magazine tended to be heavier so got in another priority for magazines from Royal Mail. Not the way to keep your delivery system in the good books if so.
  11. I don't know whether it is just me but I,m rather underwhelmed by the photo on the cover of the catalogue. A far cry from the days when it was a Cuneo picture. Maybe a bit of retro needs applying to it, there are a a number of good railway artists that surely could be used ?
  12. With the focus on era 1 surprised Hornby hasn't done any 18xx buildings yet
  13. Maybe but I suspect there are quite a few like me , who perhaps dont have such a detailed knowledge, assume that someone knowledgeable is actually consulted to ensure a reasonable representation is achieved allowing for compromises due to end cost. Many projects do seem to have an independent expert consultant on the subject involved which gives some reassurance to people like me. It really would be a shame if the end product is inaccurate due to obvious errors. Compromise for cost I can accept. I am speaking as someone interested in the model but someone very reluctant to commit to buying g until I see something concrete about what is being produced.
  14. CAD systems are invaluable but after working in a design environment all my life it can be easy for the designer to assume that the CAD will save everything and produce the good product, but checking and review by experienced other party has often been demonstrated to be invaluable in spotting flaws in the CAD.
  15. And just to think the saga will start all over again next Tuesday! I think we had all better have a new year wish for deliveries to arrive on time !!!
  16. Looks like RM are avoiding going to Bristol which is not surprising if you,ve seen the pictures on the news. Your probably better off it goes the long way round.
  17. Probably safer staying at Rapido at the moment if delivery chaos and confusion is to be believed.
  18. As long as it didn't go via Bristol looking at the pictures in the news or else you might have got something nasty extra with it !
  19. And then you could watch the Hornby announcements following !

  21. Just had an email about Hornby Hobby rewards which gives points worth 10% of purchase price using any Hornby hobby website it appears. These points can be earned on top of any collector club discount also.
  22. Before Paperchase he was Brand Director Ladbrokes and Coral then Marketing Director Rank Organisation
  23. Time for some clever engineering by offering flanged wheels for the user to fit if he wants them ?
  24. I,ve noted a few times when they have sold something a bit underpriced and it goes within minutes of putting it on the site, next time they can go rather overpriced next time they have one.
