    Bachmann Dance Hall into Derails Monday, despatched Monday and delivered this morning via 48hr tracked despite RM strike. Excellent service again.

    Derails took mine on Saturday, they bill when they get,t the invoice from Bachmann to say they,re on the way.

    It is up to the delivery team to deliver to the warehouse, unfortunately if the warehouse man interfered too much the insurance companies would have a field day in deciding how blame was apportioned. Looks more like the delivery driver needs more training on using the pallet mover. Accidents do happen and hindsight is a wonderful thing.

    It's not the size it is the shock absorption capability that counts, bigger boxes may mean more room for the bits to go ! As I think some have found in the past.

    I would assume if they still have some to preorder then they will have bought a batch they think they can sell in excess of preorders before Rapido pre order cut off date, if in doubt phone them.

    The challenge now is that liveries change so frequent that by the time you,ve launched one it has probably changed before they arrive in the shops! When I started many years ago you just had the pre BR , early BR, late BR steam and blue, now how many do you have ?

    I remember Railmail and visiting the shopvseveral times, seem to recall his discounting resulted in issues with supply from Hornby etc. Which I think resulted in him shutting up shop in Watford, not so sure he didn,t then move to Scotland and set up there. His prices were certainly very competitive.

    There seem to be nearly as many emails coming from Rails as Hattons , I wonder sometimes if they are having a competition to see who can tell me first about new products or new releases !

    What I find strange for a public listed company there is little information on who is responsible for what and none of the directors seem to have any responsibility for marketing strategy.

    Let's hope the new sales team get their act together for the future, the inference seems to be that the old team list the plot and got disorganised. Hope they will go out with a bit of bridge building. Hopefully with this message maybe some of the retailers will try and rebuild some trust, else I fear for the future of Hornby, many failures in the past have been due to sales team inadequacies.
