Are you suggesting his mother is ugly then!!!
  2. Not one to wish list (who am I kidding it’s a wish list) have you considered 37407 Blackpool tower either in the current large logo as it would fit with the models you are producing or even as the trans rail livery?
  3. And a favourite view across the layout (some of that ballast needs repacking)!
  4. Think I may have stumbled onto a layout name! It is a framed paper copy of one of the tram destinations on the Marton route in Blackpool ‘station road south shore’’.
  5. I can’t decide which way this will go as it seems the numbers are coming down but if restrictions are relaxed especially with the new variant I expect numbers will rise so I wonder if they will keep us locked down until a certain percentage of the population is vaccinated then start to reopen things. I think March is probably when we will see a change.
  6. Thank you for the idea but I have block trains of coal hoppers etc which I would want to run. No rush for a solution though will ponder a while! cheers
  7. While it may be coincidence there are no Hornby or hattons models in the list both of whom I believe have used Sam for exposure in the past. He is not the only ‘social media’ rail celebrity who grates on me maybe I am just too old! Cheers mark
  8. I kind of feel for the police with this one. Someone has reported a breach of lockdown rules, they have investigated and found people trainspotting which is not allowed in the current rules. As far as I can tell the trainspotters haven’t been fined just moved along which is a sensible and reasonable action. The police are damned if they do and damned if they don’t. I would be more annoyed by the busybody who reported them!
  9. Very true although I don’t need encouragement!
  10. Thinking about it they could include a scaledale pub and a taxi from the Oxford vehicles range to take us home after (or a coach in the set I guess)!
  11. I kind of wondered if Hornby could do an adult summer set along the same lines as the Coca Cola set with gin and tonic or pimms and lemonade tank wagons then a box van to carry the chopped fruit for the cocktails? Don’t forget you heard it here first!
  12. Just had the email from hattons cancelling my preorder but ordered now from Hornby so all ok I guess. edit- now states web exclusive next to it on the Hornby site
  13. No problem with exclusive editions etc they are a company who need money and have had a good year thankfully for various reasons but just tell us the correct info. mark
  14. Nobody expects the Spanish (COVID) inquisition Our chief weapons are etc etc......... apologies to monty python
  15. Hornby website running like a whippet this morning so have managed To preorder my scotrail 47. I therefore owe Hornby an apology but I searched yesterday under TTS and railroad and the catalogue number also used Diana and Spencer and the website couldn’t find the model suggesting it may have sold out! Searching the 2021 range it wouldn’t go past the first page so couldn’t locate the model that way. So yes sorry Hornby! mark
  16. Thanks I keep trying and keep getting bad gateway error and website goes down. Tried multiple browsers something must have broken their website!
  17. Just a thought though if hattons listed it and shouldn’t have done then I guess my frustration should be aimed at them but no evidence of that -yet!
  18. My issue is if I had known it was a Hornby only web exclusive when the range was launched I would have ordered via Hornby but instead ordered via hattons as advertised in good faith and now Hornby it seems have moved the goal posts. Hopefully if appropriate Hornby can increase the quantity available and I will order via their website.
  19. Looks like Diana Spencer now sold out at Hornby not coming up on webpage did pre order via hattons but now that may be lost. Thanks for nothing Hornby! update the site works and the model is there happy days!!
  20. As I said I would prefer an end to end with loco changes but I have loads of wagons for block trains so unsure how I could do this with an end to end station. As i wanted it to be based on the fylde coast I wondered whether to use a bit of modellers license (ok a lot) and assume that Blackpool south and north were actually linked across town as a kind of loop off the west coast mainline or have an end to end and add in a branch to Fleetwood which is only accessible by a station reversal. This could assume a freight terminal or something at Fleetwood. Thanks for listening to me prattle on!
  21. The missing corner to prove the roundy roundy. (and the unauthorised storage shelf which should be a town)! mark
  22. Thank you both it’s actually a roundy roundy but realise the pictures don’t show this. Thank you for the prototype ideas and will take a look at the examples given but like I say progress paused now pending potential house move. The fiddle yard is painful particularly trying to couple stock on a curve! The door is just in the wrong place to have a decent run on the fiddle yard. The room is approx 16ft by 7ft by the way. Thanks again for looking.
  23. One aspect I don’t like is the station building it kind of just sits on a shelf was going to do a town scene above the layout but can’t find a prototype for this it would be like the station at the end of a street heading down from an over ridge to the platform but it doesn’t feel right somehow.
  24. We have a 3 platform station, 2 road diesel shed and 2 road emu sidings. I do have platform lights but 1 platform has gone off so as I said before no point fixing! Fiddle yard is 4 roads of decent size then 2 smaller roads. Hopefully if we have a house move I will get more space and bigger baseboards but for now this does me!
