I am a Liverpool fan and wanted city to win (keep it in the north west new name on the cup and all that) but not sure what Pep was thinking with the team selection at all. Listened on the radio defence sounded like it was all over the place- Sterling ineffective and he seems to be losing his touch a bit (honestly not sour grapes after he left Liverpool). I do think City will be back next year though. Congratulations to Chelsea they did deserve it. I kind of wish the euro’s was cancelled I believe all the players deserve a break been a really hard and very strange season for them all. Yes I know they get big bucks etc etc but some of them looked knackered by the end of the season.

It was always payment when goods arrive no deposit or anything so I did not lose out financially but a pain to locate stock and reorder with another retailer.

Did hattons know what tier they were in and the implications before or after the 2021 launch. The difference being they took pre orders knowing they may have difficulty fulfilling them being in tier 3 or did Hornby bring in the tier system after orders had been placed? Also were they prompt in cancelling my pre orders when they knew which tier they were in?

In a funny sort of way this has given me some reassurance that I will be able to source my models. When I was receiving my cancelled orders emails from Hattons I was worried there was a reduction in the number of models produced (which may also be occurring) but I have been able to place most of my pre orders with other retailers. While I don’t really have an opinion on the tier system and would like to see how it works in practice with my orders going forward I struggle to think what may have worked instead although from reading some posts a bit more transparency from Hornby to the retailers at least would have helped. Are the retailers going to get a sticker to display in the window like the local council do with the food ratings at takeaways? Mark

Just reading through thinking this doesn’t seem too bad then got to this post! Barry- how are you guys in tier 2 you have all the brands stated as far as I recall in a well stocked and tidy shop (not to mention friendly and helpful when I-had an issue). I would be asking for a reassessment if I were you. I think VAR have got it wrong on this one. On that point though how were the shops assessed and is it a continuous process or a yearly appraisal. Who at Hornby has the final say -is there a committee?

I was very excited to see this picture as by implication the APT’s have been manufactured and are potentially en route! Although this was kind of a one off coach so maybe lacking some commonalities with the other components of the train. Should I be excited or not (as a 50yr old there’s not a lot else to get excited about now anyway I guess).

Back in Feb I contacted Hattons to ask if my pre-orders were safe and received this reply. I guess at this point hattons would have known which tier they were in and what they may or may not receive from Hornby. I don’t know if the person replying to my email would have known about the tier system. Hi Mark, Thanks for getting in touch. I've checked, and can confirm that all of your pre-orders are still in place and confirmed - the only product you won't be receiving is the: Mk4 FO first open (accessible toilet) in Intercity Swallow 'Coach L' - As Hornby have advised us that this item has been cancelled from production. It would seem reading between the lines there is conflict between traders and Hornby and I really don’t understand why either would want this although I am aware Hornby can sell directly there is a symbiotic relationship between the 2. They should be mutually beneficial to each other! Confused of Lancashire.

If there is any truth in the tier system, how do you get allocated to a tier? Hattons must be a huge spender with Hornby so I can’t imagine they would be in a low tier and by insinuation on bad terms?

Just checked my hattons account as I thought they had cancelled everything Hornby but the order for the tts class 08 decoder was still there. So I saved them the trouble and cancelled it myself!

I am sorry that has been your experience I have no great ideas but maybe a more formal group professional or voluntary would be more understanding/ appropriate if you feel it would be beneficial?

Hi Jim have also done weight watchers in the past and did do well but it creeps back on after I hit my target but have had a ‘warning sign’ this time from the GP regarding my last blood results so trying again with some success. keep up the good work you said you already feel better for it and I found it hard to remember that feeling when craving a kebab! Maybe you could set up a challenge to sponsor you to lose those last 2 stone to benefit the cats you foster? A fiver a stone or whatever? Keep up the good work- back to the trains (and planes)! mark

Just received an email from Hornby to state the intercity DVT is available direct and via stockists ironically received a week or so after the email from hattons cancelling my order!

I find it curious that Kernow’s adverts state to order with confidence from the indicating they have confidence their order will be fulfilled. And yes the ad I saw was Hornby products.

There doesn’t seem to be much new product but I wonder how much COVID and other factors have had to play in this. Is production reduced out in China I have no idea maybe Bachmann will discuss with Andy at some point when they update on previously announced products. As an aside now the announcements are 4x a year has that increased the mods workload by 4? The same complaints 4x a year instead of just once with the old January announcements. I reckon someone at Bachmann did it on purpose!

Surprised to see another 24 but I guess natural progression from the 24/1. Still available for pre order on the Hornby site (as I have done). Something not right has hattons oversold their allocation or Hornby decided to under supply. Will be interesting to see if other shops have their allocations cut too.
