  1. There was an n gauge shop down central drive but you are thinking of (I think) the 2 shops on Dickson road, was was run by a chap called Lance who did the new and second hand then a second hand shop further down and the bloke who ran it only had 1 leg and was in a wheelchair. No idea what the names of the shop were. (The first shop was opposite funny girls (maybe the odeon then) near north station and the other further down the road.
  2. All my rails preorders say pending including items I know are not due till middle of next year soI don’t think it really is any indication.

    2021 hopes

Just seen a Facebook post from Hornby to state there are 350 new products in the new catalogue.

    2021 hopes

I hope everyone stays healthy fit and well at Hornby and everywhere else! (was that what you meant)? It is true though!
  5. Have watched the running video would have liked to see it navigate some points and maybe one of the inner loops but even so it’s looking very good. I would have loved to have been in the 2020 range development meeting where it was discussed. I can imagine people looking incredulously at the proposal or suggestion and then rationalising it looking at the Hornby and others ranges to see what other products would complement it and how they have sold (such as the class 87). I then reckon someone banged their fist on the table and stated ‘if we are doing it we are doing it properly all 14 vehicles’!! Sorry I know it’s all in my head but I am glad they are doing it properly and am really looking forward to it also glad it seems to be selling well for Hornby with hattons showing sold out on most of the apt coaches.
  6. Got to say it’s really impressive work on the locomotives especially considering you are working in N gauge. I struggle to fit manufacturer supplied detailing parts to a OO model! Love the layout too memories of my home town.
  7. Just seen a clip of someone’s running on Facebook pity about the lights but the paint job is excellent.
  8. Page 65 in the Hornby catalogue 2020 shows the model with working lights!
  9. Has anyone got this model I know it’s dated tooling but how is the livery- does it have working lights?
  10. Yes it was q3 although he did hint it could arrive slightly earlier which would be a bonus but I think they wanted to be safe rather than sorry.
  11. I also have a bank account (rather than a band account in case you were wondering)!
  12. As good as the deltic looks the class 92 looks to be the real flagship model (it is for-me anyway). Even though the price increase is only £20 am considering an order for a third before the increase comes in. Well done on a really promising model (and also for emptying my band account)!
  13. Hopefully there will be an update in the next engine shed episode either way. Despite Hornby’s best efforts I would be surprised if we saw it before next year.
  14. Thanks for the update Ben was also wondering where we were up to seems like ages ago we were told they were in production. cheers mark
  15. I watched the interview with hattons at the weekend and notice nothing seemed to be said or asked about the class 66. I had hoped they may have mentioned the axle boxes or offered assurance that this would be fixed on the next batch.
  16. I think a year as Hornby do (although sometimes there are slippages with timings) works pretty well but I also think that the fact you ask for deposits when buying direct means customers are committed to buying from you regardless of what the competition may do. I have for example 2 class 92 ordered and even if say Bachmann announced one last week and it was delivered tomorrow I would buy one probably but wouldn’t be cancelling my pre orders which I have already put money into. It helps that you are producing quality products too!
  17. Managed to dip in and out over the weekend will the content be left up for a while so I can catchup? Thanks for a great show really well done in the circumstances. cheers mark
  18. I think the class 14 was a hattons exclusive which Heljan then released so the class 28 may be a similar deal maybe where hattons have exclusive use of the tooling for a set time period then it moves to Heljan general use. I have no evidence of this just a thought.

    Lockdown #2

I did note at the end of the conference Boris did try to give some positivity that things may be returning to normal (ish) by Spring. Maybe a vaccine in the system by then along with the seasonal change. Maybe a model railway exhibition by August?..
  20. I can only think that the much requested model must be a class 66 captain Tom as they have just produced some 66’s recently.
  21. Just trying to work it out but the last announcements were August 7th so can we expect another set of quarterly announcements the first or second week of November. Couldn’t see anything on the Bachmann site to confirm this.
  22. Exactly Rails could but haven’t so what are we waiting for? Has there been a big push in the magazines or anything to push it over the line assuming it needs pushing? Are there ongoing negotiations between rails and accurascale which are taking longer than anticipated or is there another factor we are not privy to? But please put us out of our misery one way or the other!
  23. I had hoped that we would have known by now if this was going ahead or not. I have no evidence of this but wonder if an announcement is expected from Hornby for this considering their interest and production of the class 91 as the 89 would be a good companion for this especially if the mark 4 coaches and dvt are to follow. mark
  24. Thanks did a quick search but all I found were tedious reviews will try different search terms cheers
  25. Have bought a couple of the cheap ones and one has a slight wobble and the other really rocks from side to side. Am going to cut out the axle boxes and also fit a dcc chip. What’s the story on getting the body off- any tips?
