  1. You are not alone! I also happen to like dioramas especially ones that feature an Airfix/Revell Fighter plane model.
  2. Not much progress on the B12 as i have been unable to get parts. But the Hall is slowly becoming a locomotive again
  3. I may have accidently kickstarted a liking for OO9... It all started when i brought a whitemetal kit of No.2 Dolgoch at a show. I rather like OO9 because you can get sorts of locos and rolling stock plus it is small and to scale with OO (1:76). I started on it last week by painting the whole thing black and then assembled part of it. The real Dolgoch is red/maroon and lined. So i will have to repaint most of the loco to the appropiate colour
  4. Looking good. It's amazing to think that you can make a layout with anything using even the most strangest of things.
  5. Nice work on the City of Truro model. It looks just as good as the real thing!
  6. I think you can beat an EWS 66... With a LMS Black 5. The workhorses of the steam days (in the London Midland and Scottish Regions)
  7. I look forward to this. I will be watching your progress.
  8. Iv'e had a look at them and i rather like some of them. I think the Kenwards Colliery boxfile layout by Kevo looks good as well as some others.
  9. The layout really looks like a freight yard in America now than a NCB colliery somewhere in the UK(!) What's next for the layout?
  10. That is looking good. What's next for the layout?
  11. The layout looks really good. I thinknthe traveser looks good on the layout. I have always wondered how to do one...
  12. I am going to have another browse and look at other layouts again so i get a rough idea what i want.
  13. Thanks. When planning new layouts, and i always do research first. That way i get some ideas what i want the layout to look like. If i don't like it, i rearrange things.
  14. That diesel shunter is unusual. Looking at it, i reckon it is a Lima model. Do you know what class it is supposed to represent or is it just a one off?
  15. Looking good so far. It's amazing how much space youv'e got to play with when you are modelling in N.
  16. This diorama is looking really good! I think it is that detailed It might be exhibition standard!
  17. The layout is only two R601s (Hornby double straight) long with a bit of room to spare. The block of wood near the blue bin lid is going to be sawn off. The other block of wood nearest the camera on the right hand side, (which might be pine), is going to be the fiddle yard. It is the same thickness as the sundeala board so is ideal.
  18. The layout is going to need a big fiddle yard as the NYMR's trains can be up to 8 coaches long. I might also buy a East Midlands Trains Class 43 HST to represent the Pickering Paxman which will be renumbered to the actual hst that ran on the line.
  19. While that dries, i'm going to cheat a bit and look at other modeller's micro layouts for inspiration. Then i'll either copy one and tweak it a bit or make my own up.
  20. Ok. Work on the layout has started. The sundeala board has been glued to a block of wood with PVA. It has been clamped and is now drying in the conservatory
  21. Thanks for the support. Maybe i might do another shoebox layout after i have finished this one!
  22. My first (and probably last(!) attempt at making a shoebox shunting layout failed dramatically. It was not long until i found a length of sundeala board in the garage. It was decided on tge spot that i woukd have another crack at making a layout only this time it has a proper baseboard!
  23. Thanks OOman. I'm going to start working on the new layout this week (hopefully!)
  24. I have taken off the tail lamp on the tender so i can put it on my BR 20T brake van. I will need to find some paint either BR brunswick green/GWR green or paint the tender black.
