  1. With the news, that the TPX 68s will be gone by the end of the year, I'll think I'll start posting again. 68030 Black Douglas at Scarborough on 06/07/23
  2. Didn't know they were getting rid of them until I found this. Such a shame.
  3. These are the timings and the route of 70000 Britannia on Real Time Trains. It shows that the train departed late from Chertsey by 15 minutes and continued to lose time until Woking Junction, where it started to gain time before the failure. It eventually arrived at London Victoria at 02:39am, 278 minutes late.
  4. I found two videos on YouTube of the train at Guildford. The first one has photos as well as a video of the Class 47 on the rear hauling the train back but unfortunately, has music over it. 70013 failed at Guildford The second one is of the same video of the diesel hauling the train back to Guildford. This time with no music. Class 47 hauling the train back to Guildford
  5. Unfortunately, one of the N gauge layouts has pulled out of the exhibition. Currently, I do not know which layout it is. But, it is planned to be replaced by another N gauge layout, Hilldale.
  6. Keeping on the topic of the Jacobite, They also have K1 62005 from NELPG but that's currently undergoing overhaul at the moment.
  7. Photos of the unfortunate victims. B16 925 at Hull Dairycoates in 1938. The bombed 4469 in the remains of North Shed. 4469 after it had been recovered. Close up of the damage on the tender.
  8. If I remember correctly, the loco involved was 4469 Sir Ralph Wedgewood. 4469 was stabled at York North Shed (what is now the National Railway Museum's Great Hall) on the night of 28/29 April 1942, the night of the Baedeker raid on York. During the attack, York station and North Shed were bombed. 4469 and another nearby engine, B16 class No. 925, were damaged after a bomb fell through the shed roof and exploded between the two engines. 4469 was severely damaged as a result of the explosion, but it was recovered and towed to Doncaster shortly afterwards. Due to the degree of damage, 4469 was condemned and later scrapped. On 29th April 1992, A plaque was placed in the exact spot in the Great Hall where No. 4469 was destroyed by the Gresley Society to mark the 50th anniversary of the raid.
  9. No, everything's fine! It's there for a reason! The Jinty has been temporarily stabled just before the crossing while it awaits for the train on the same line to depart the station. It's just taking a while because a lorry has stalled on the level crossing on the other side of the station and it won't start. The joint effort of the AA and the Police can't budge the lorry so 2 'coppers' paid a visit to the nearby Army Base to ask for help. They kindly responded and sent a tank from the 10th Hilldale Tank Regiment. Once the tank has moved the stalled lorry, the train can depart the station after which, the gates of this crossing will close and the Jinty will head off to the sheds.
  10. 60007 Sir Nigel Gresley currently carries BR Express blue but I don't know if it received the livery under BR.
  11. Tank meets tank (engine) sometime during September 1941.
  12. "I'm in my wedding dress!" "Yes, you look lovely. COME ON!!!"
  13. I think it actually might have been 76079's BR2a tender. It's been loaned to another locomotive somewhere while the loco's own tender is repaired.
  14. BREAKING NEWS!!! The NYMR have announced not one but 2 more guest locos that will be attending the gala! Joining 60007 and 92214 are BR Standard class 4MT 75069 from the Severn Valley Railway and Caledonian Railway 2P 55189.
  15. It's been known for a while but unfortunately 825 and 76079 won't be attending the gala as well. 76079 had been withdrawn from service for overhaul a year early and is stored at Pickering carriage sheds. 825 is stored at Grosmont, out of service for the foreseeable future.
  16. Right, one of the cub members saw this on Facebook: It's saying that the other club in Bridlington, The Bridlington Model Railway Society, are the organisers of the show! This is completely incorrect as Trainshed are the ACTUAL organisers of the show.
  17. Have Bachmann stated any prices yet or when they'll be in the shops?
  18. I've cancelled the pre-orders for the T7 Translator vehicle and the nuclear flask wagon. This is because I want to focus on getting the Network Rail coaches first. I don't know when they'll come but I've heard the DVT will be released sometime this month.
