  1. Saw a review that compared these to GLR couplings, interesting video. The problem for me, is that I have multiple 2+8 hst rakes but the coaches are all from different batches, for example my Fgw rake would only need one type, whereas my intercity set would need about 2. A few people mentioned unreliable connections, nice to see a new coupling. But I don’t understand the hype behind it. And it doesn’t really seem suitable for shunting layouts, however they look great on dean parks layout, especially for push pull
  2. Looking a little bit later on from it’s release, these seem to have gone a bit quiet from retailers. No constant sales etc, maybe Bachmann judged their market well. An odd thing to happen, personally I found some of the details a bit coarse. Fine on the 2011 Pullman but on the 2019 £675 one, it certainly shows it’s age.
  3. Will 2 car running be possible, especially in later nse days. Hopefully the couplings have been put in a way that allows it
  4. As a dc modeller, the pre fitted put up the cost for something I don’t use, also with the 158 the speakers are quite bad. Basically putting up the price for dc modellers and comprising the dcc fraternity, hopefully they stop it
  5. My 158s both have them, a hassle to connect but they make it stable. However compared to the 150/350/101 style it does look incredibly large
  6. I am very happy with my 66, it was sent back as it arrived dead. Hattons were quick and efficient to replace it and I’ve had no issues with it. But the model was ‘hyped’ so much that many people are saying it’s not delivered. Obviously quality seems to be lacking, more so than other manufacturers. Hattons could have easily been more open about this and break the mould of manufacturers, like accurascale are doing. Hopefully an improved second batch comes.
  7. I’m not a Scotrail expert at all, but the coaches look a different colour to the powercars. I posted a YouTube video on my gwr ones and some comments noted the difference in finish on the power cars to the coaches, has anyone else noticed this?
  8. I have seen a few 66 replacements, my one returned and the box seemed more damaged, maybe just transit. Wouldn’t be surprised if stocks were low and hattons had to.
  9. I noticed that on antics website, they seem to have the exact dates of delivery. Are these true or false?
  10. Same here! Power cars are still set for July? The Kenneth grange pack is in June I believe
  11. They could do one, but they might be focusing on other products
  12. I could see kernow maybe doing a 118, but they are doing a special edition 117 so they might not
  13. True, I must say the Hornby ones are very good. But the Bachmann ones are absolutely glorious, but 80 quid for a mk2 is quite scary
  14. I think people are now realising that their requests won’t get made or will take about a decade to produce, hence the lack of froth
  15. I did notice on mine, the bogies are clipped in, like the older mk3. I also noted 4 little plastic prongs on them, that looked very similar to the mounting points for light pick ups on my mk2E. So they have given the tooling availability for lighting in the future. They might use similar parts and refresh the mk3, they’ll need to keep the cost down though, Given that the 91 is coming out and they are doing the buffered hst they might re tool them for early use, but they’ll probably do mk4s instead.
  16. I’m fully expecting it to be just release dates being moved and maybe a small bit on how the virus will affect them. Again as said further up in the chat, I’m slightly disappointed at bachmanns lack of social media presence, look at hattons and Hornby. Hopefully they can try in the future.
  17. Noticed that 43 172 has been kept around, will it be converted?
  18. My GWR ones arrived today, absolutely brilliant. If you are thinking of buying them just do it!
  19. I’d sooner see hattons doing this
  20. Had an email from kernow, say the coaches are arriving with them today
  21. Should be arriving soon, certainly cheer me up during these rather bleak times! Hope everyone is doing well
  22. Hopefully, that would be ideal. But most manufacturers are playing it rather close to the chest at the moment.
  23. Looking at the images on the engine shed, the previous power cars do not match. They have the wrong cowling anyway but I was hoping to use my old pair in the time the new ones have not been released.
  24. Just looked on bachmanns site, saying February 2021. I remember when the gwr one was meant to come out in very early 2018!
  25. Just noticed a few products have been pushed back, in particular the GWR class 150 which is now scheduled for feb 2021, I think it was due out in January 2018.
