  1. Exactly, rather annoying when manufacturers do this, especially when an announcement was made about the delay
  2. Odd that they are now released, I’m hopeful that issues of the past have been solved...
  3. Interesting to see this slip through, in my experience I have noticed a severe drop in quality from Hornby, neigh all manufacturers in recent years. There has been many issues with the 002/198 pack that was released alongside the nmt. Hopefully we get a statement or ‘fixing’ from Hornby.
  4. Obviously these are still quite early on in the design process, have you decided on a coupling, like a conductive bar type or just NEM pockets?
  5. For the price and age difference, think almost 38 years, that should be the case.
  6. Absolutely smashing work! Inspiring me to get on with my one!
  7. Especially as this happens on many steam locos with the same feature, the ones on my 117 feel a lot more delicate than on a Hornby cable which is just as thin.
  8. It’s rubber, surely it will degrade and become brittle. It’s very thin, so will dry out quicker. I could be wrong but it is a very fine part, hopefully Bachmann do spares
  9. Although the speedo cable looks good, surely it will deteriorate over time?
  10. Same here, idk if it’s just me. But I am noticing more flaws, maybe I’m just paying too much attention, but the prices are so high now. I’m noticing more and more little things, like some paint chips on the stairs of the 66 and detail not sitting quite right, obviously I’m sounding pedantic. But if they are going to put so much detail on, at least get it right
  11. I do agree, models that used to be class leading are now looking older and older as new releases come out, the Hornby range as a whole comes to mind, but that’s off topic. I think if you get a hattons shed without any major issues it’s brilliant and runs great, but, that should be expected. Especially at the price point and how it was described as class leading. I have had an okay experience with mine, but holding off buying more. Although the qc seems to be in the dirt for all major manufacturers atm.
  12. I wonder how this will turn out, 2 25s, which will be the better model?
  13. I’ve had to run my 117 as a 2 car, as my current plank is too small for the 3 car one. Runs absolutely fine
  14. Excellent news, sceptical about the smoke option though. Never looks good, especially on diesels
  15. Any update on delivery, it’s all gone a bit quiet. We last saw samples in 2018, I believe they had issues, can anyone from Dapol or in the know give some info, cheers
  16. Next year, it could well be another batch of mk3sd as well as some castle class power cars (nameplates and appropriate mods). I have a feeling that we might see some stagnation, if these coaches keep coming.
  17. Had this issue on both my 117 and 2 158s, as you say disconcerting. Maybe the packaging?
  18. Recently got a few of my old Lima 117/118 conversions out, noticed they had roof ribs. Personally it doesn’t bother me, but I do wonder why it was omitted?
  19. Good news, although I remember people saying there were a few issues, as the latest samples were in 2018, hopefully these were fixed
  20. It is disappointing, and I agree. Especially as this model has an RRP of over £300. It is a good runner and I love it. But areas of the model seem quite lazy, the clunky wipers and lack of roof ribs come to mind. At least it was a rather quick release, in Bachmann terms.
  21. Sorry bout that, will edit my comment. Not trying to cause offence at all
  22. Rather interesting, is the factory maybe be an answer to the poor quality? However I doubt it was the manufacturers fault, maybe just the factory not following instructions? Purely speculative
  23. Some of my wheel sets weren’t in, however this was also the case on my 158. Odd thing to happen, is the packaging too tight or just simply a manufacturer error?
  24. Bachmann seem to be sceptical about roof ribs, after the mk1 situation, they probably just want to use the most inoffensive solution.
  25. My 117 has just arrived, I’m extremely happy with it, it looks great and runs extremely smooth, but it should. Anything less than almost perfect would be disappointing at this price point
