  1. Given the next Bachmann announcement is the products that will probably be out for Christmas, it’s got to be the expensive stuff. That’s probably northern, scotrail 158s and hopefully a swt/swr 159/8. Hopefully they’ll utilise the fantastic tooling!
  2. There is the buffered IC pair, says November so more likely the new year?
  3. Given cavalax are now doing the mgr wagons to a high degree, 56 possible. The 31 is good just lacks liveries and looks a bit crude in some areas
  4. That’s quite out of character for Bachmann. Not like people wanted seal beam 45s for a decade then as soon as Heljan say they are doing one...
  5. I think it’s been covered that the return policy works well, I was more aiming at the issues in tooling and criticism that was levelled at hattons well before release. The accurascale comparison might not work, however it should be how most manufacturers act (in my opinion) and what have we actually seen from hattons other than a few stock responses or “speak to our customer service dept”, although this is a similar response you would get from most other big manufacturers. I just hoped hattons would pave a way and be transparent, guess they went a different way.
  6. This is what has caused me the most annoyance. I get all model manufacturers make mistakes, that’s a given. But it’s how they deal with it that shows the true quality. And quite honestly hattons have been pretty lacklustre. I was hoping they would be transparent much like accurascale, but they have taken a more traditional approach. Luckily 66s aren’t a massive part of my fleet, but if they are the mainstay of your fleet and you were promised a definitive model, you can see why those people are disappointed. This experience has really put hattons in a different light to me, such a shame.
  7. I think the preserved liveries would be a good idea, they might see how well the retro livery sells. And with Bachmann doing the 80s liveries recently, people might not want to change.
  8. Hornbys failures in the past few years have been rather sad too watch, seems they are making no effort to improve. Anyway, really happy to see these wagons, especially the cdas! Good work
  9. Looks great! Will definitely look better than the old release
  10. Hasn’t been much on progress/talk on these, a few shops are saying sept 2020 for release, has it been delayed? Cheers
  11. Definitely, given the next announcement is near Christmas. It will be the expensive stuff, I heard the 170 project just hasn’t had any progress. But, now that Bachmann have got the plux 22 electrics and drive, surely it might be easier to progress.
  12. Very interesting, hopefully a CDA variant is done. Great to see more from you guys, wonder how Hornby must be feeling.... really happy to see these done, cheers!
  13. Although prices are rising, I think it’s inevitable. I’m more concerned about the things announced years ago that still aren’t out. The Bachmann 3 month thing is good, but I hope we see more work on things announced ages ago, 170 project etc
  14. That’s what I was going on, it’s a decent model. But at its current price, looks rather outdated against the 158 and things like the realtrack 156. Then again it could be the passengers making it more expensive. But it looks expensive especially when kernow do a limited edition 150 for sub £200. Also the 3 year delay, was expected in 2018, had an email from a few shops saying it was near then it all went dark and now it keeps getting pushed further away
  15. Do we know if the 150s will be fitted with the plux22 decoder and low floor motors, or will it be the same motor block in one of the cars. Given it’s lengthy gestation, I’m hoping it will be updated.
  16. I can see Hornby doing a castle pair next year, along with a batch of ‘improved’ mk3s tbh
  17. Since hattons have stopped stocking new Bachmann, I just haven’t felt the need to use them anymore. I used to use them quite regularly but have now stopped. I’m probably in a small minority, but out of interest. How many others on here are like me, other shops often offer the same if not better experience. I do hope the 66s sell as it is a fabulous model, but until there is some acknowledgment or fixing, I’m not going to be buying anymore. And if bachmanns offering stays at its current price, I think some people may just give up waiting on hattons.
  18. Well they’ve lost Bachmann, although I saw some new products come in, at near rrp. If the 66 project doesn’t do well, it will be a large hit for them, made even larger by the times we live in. There is now a considerable amount of people who have either had a bad experience with their 66s or are just scared of the stigma of it and have now sworn by Bachmann. If Bachmann continues to do more celebrities and get the colours correct, I will probably go with them. The loss in detail might be annoying, but I’d rather have one run without wobbling or leave a trail of black plastic around the track. Such a shame, what the 66 could’ve been, still a decent model and if you get one that works, it’s great.
  19. For me, the flaws and uncertainty are still stopping me from buying anymore, was in the market for 3 more but haven’t decided on them. As well as the little to no response from hattons other than the standard speak to our customer care team has really marked them down in my book. Look at the likes of these new companies such as accurascale who are extremely transparent about delays\ issues. I wish hattons went down this route, but sadly they haven’t.
  20. My point was rare and or for crazy money, think they are cashing in on the boom of popularity, maybe we might see that Heljan London transport loco later?
  21. I’d look on eBay at the s stock prices atm
  22. Anyone put a kernow pba/jia next to an EFE rail one, should be the same? Wondering if there would be any paint finish discrepancies between the two?
  23. This may sound ignorant, but how big are Bachmann Europe? I understand that there’s a large American side too Bachmann then in the 90s they started over here With the 158 etc. I always got the impression that they are a bit smaller then we give credit for, given the long lead times on some products.
  24. Absolutely brilliant. Not my region, but extremely tempting. Think I’d rather a longer wait and have a perfect model. Great work!
  25. I remember when they were done the first time around that people weren’t particularly happy with the weathering job, how does it stack up in person. I’ve got a few weathered clay tigers and thought they were okay, is it similar? Cheers
