  1. Red,blue and yellow air lines and black for the electrical suzie. All curly whirley ,of course!(44 years as a driver,I know these things!) atb Phil.
  2. That TK is crying out for the airlines and suzies to be fitted between the back of the cab and the trailer, otherwise first class. atb Phil.

  4. Hi John,It's about a 20 mile round trip to my nearest model shop. What I do is order what I want over the phone and then when it arrives, have a ride out to collect it and have a bit of a chat.Very obliging chap is Barry. atb Phil. ps never come away empty handed, there's always some thing I need.
  5. Having just re-read this thread,I was just thinking could you not use those CCW axle boxes as masters and cast some more in resin(or something)? atb Phil.
  6. Andy,I'm sure you can get some sticky back translucent plastic film to go over the glass. This will prevent any spying eyes and make the glass almost shatterproof. atb Phil.
  7. Hi Rod,thats how platform trollys should be parked, they had an automatic brake with a big spring(well GWR ones did),so pulling down the handle released the brake, letting go ,the spring pulled the handle back up and put the brakes on.Wooden brake blocks staight onto the rubber tyres, too. atb Phil.

  12. I think you could go a touch more orange on the rail, Ade,somehow it dosen't look quite right.(I have seen some parts nearly black, but I think that could be oil or grease. ATB Phil
  13. Cant remember the right name for it,but if there's a vehicle parked on it ,the bar cannot be raised and the points/signal cannot be cleared.I'm sure there is someone who could put it better than that, with all the technical terms, but that's what it does. ATB Phil
  14. Proper job ,Andrew. Phil
  15. Thanks Martin.I wasn't after an exact measurement as such, but what you say makes sense.I have managed by some fluke(certainly more by luck than judgement,or even some dodgy measuring) to have no electrical connection at the wing rails,so only have to put gaps in the crossing V rails. That only leaves me with the electrical bits and a frog switch and all will be done. Oh,and while I think about it ,thanks for Templot,it's been a great help. ATB Phil.
  16. Just want to ask if there is any special length of rail beyond the frog where isolation gaps have to be put?Point is nearly finished,Bodged up a power supply and got a loco and wagon to run both ways down each line without coming off.Quite chuffed about that.Got some fish plates to fix in and that's about it.Will post photo when done. ATB Phil.
