  1. It does seem to be less than previous years nonetheless however I am delighted with the 2023 range. BR InterCity 125s returning to the range Class 43 Power cars in original BR blue with the MK3s it is nice I am amazed to see Executive livery Intercity 125 again with the MK3s the correct tooling used for the Restaurant Buffet car roof vents battery boxes etc. The Dublo Deltic prototype looks very nice! A Class 43 (Warship) nice to see this back in the RailRoad range after an absence of 7 or 8 odd years was it? Railfreight OAA 45 ton wagon it's good to see this back after a very long period! Railfreight 45 Ton SAA Steel carrier again nice to see again after so many years! No Class 33 Railroad yet Hornby have only used the ex lima tooling once or three times between 2010 and 2012. The Freightmaster train set looks very nice! a very beautiful Class 20 locomotive with 4! additional wagons and a engineering maintenance coach! I am happy to see Hornby reintroduce British Rail era train sets! a newly tooled TTA tank wagons three for 2023 Shell Esso BP! Macaw B / Bogie Bolster C newly tooled very nice! Salmon bogie wagon again very nice. It is a very nice a range! Although the catalogue cover was accidently leaked yesterday was it? I wont say where I saw it!
  2. I wouldn't rule anything out! Expect the unexpected! 😁 looking back I am sure I remember a few people from say back in the predictions for December 2019, say that for Hornby's Centenary for 2020 that Hornby would never retool a new APT-P? 2020! Not only did we get an APT-P we got two full 14 rake trains consitioning of sets 370 001, 370 002 final APT-P logo window surrounds and 370 003 370 004, in plain yellow fronts and the experimental coach with the equally beautiful George Stephenson's Rocket! Even more prestigious they both beautifully were illustrated as pride of place on the cover of the 2020 catalogue. finally a few people said . ( I think I did too) back in 2020 that this would be the only ever time that Hornby would do the APT-P again! because it was their 100th Anniversary. For 2022 both sets were announced again with the alternative livery as they had for 2020.
  3. I would have said no this is fine thank you I like to have the personlised retailers price stickers, labels and price tags from price guns etc. (which I do! It tells the history of the model locomotive etc where it was purchased from i love the personal details that retailers do themselves on Hornby, Bachmann, Heljan Dapol, Peco, Rails Acurascale etc and all other model railway manufacturers. ) It does seem a very strange practice from a retailer to do this! I have never came across this and im often in bricks and mortar retailers.
  4. I saw this too that two both sets 11 of each have appeared in the last three hours. I did think about buying one each of them, but I don't think it is right as listed retailers they are selling them over 140% The RRP. I was thankfully lucky to buy R30231 HM The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee West Country No. 70 ‘Elizabeth ll’ - Era 11 when they were announced. I want to keep mine, I was extremely saddend and some what angry, to see people profiting on them God rest her beautiful soul. God save the King! What would happen now if Hornby were to suddenly annouce another batch are being produced due to the significant increase in demand?
  5. I'm sure given the high demand this won't be the last time ever that Hornby reintroduce Drax Biomass Wagons Packs , another run possibly in the next five years. Given the high demand there is for them? That would stop the high prices of £300 - £400 plus, that are currently being asked for them. That was what Simon said about The Clan class locomotives.
  6. Hornby the R60176/R60177 Drax Biomass Wagons Packs - another run possibly? Given the high demand there is for them? That would stop the high prices of £300 - £400 plus, that are currently being asked for? Who knows though?
  7. This set R776 Clockwork Set was produced between 1988 and 1994. It still amazes me, that quite often this set still to this very day, appears on a well known auction site in new condition. My primary and infants school had this set. It was used every May for the annual School Fête. The oval of track was sellotaped onto coloured sugar paper, which was attached to an ancient wooden oval round foldable table. Beautifully hand drawn in felt tip coloured pen were face view characters from Thomas and Friends, Thomas, Annie and Clarabel, Edward, Henry Gordon, James, Percy ,Toby and the Troublesoom Trucks. Whoever drew them they looked identical to the TV Series. I think it coast 10 pence or something this is from memory 1994 until the late 1990s I think. There were two of each of the cards two for whoever the players had chosen and the corresponding characters were all placed along the center of the oval of track. Whichever card the locomotive 🚂 landed on the winner would receive the coins. I did ask why the wagons were not coupled to the locomotive. Because it would take too long for it as a train to stop. Killjoys! I even remember where it was stored throughout the rest of the year at the far end of the school sites. This would have been circa 1994. it was in the nursery store shed where all the go karts and other equipment were kept. I could see the greenbox edge of the Hornby Railways Clockwork Set which seemed to be a mile high! Edit: Apologies I forgot to mention all of the cards featuring characters from Thomas and Friends, they were either double sided with sticky-back-plasic or given their age they could have been laminated. As when I was 5 1996 I made my mum a keyring on an ancient Acorn School PC Which was laminated but over the years it became like sticky-back-plastic. For a split second I thought this was an accidental leak that they are coming back! On a serious note I would love to see Hornby revive the fantastic, beautiful colourful Continental Puffing Billy 0-4-0 locomotive clockwork sets, with wagons and in retro packaging with even retro cardboard cut out and fold people stations signals farm animals etc I would leave this untouched I would definitely buy one!
  8. CrossCountry Class 43 train pack 2022 toolings with separate MK3s 2022 toolings. With 43384 power car Attached photo ©. D.W.V Hunt and © Modern Railways.com Reintroduced Original livey InterCity 125 as they haven't been in the range a while. BR Class 43 HST Class 253 Western Region 1970s power cars. With 7 BR MK3 coaches separately. BR Class 43 HST Class 254 Eastern Region 1970s power cars. With 8 BR MK3 coaches separately. BR Class APT-P Train pack sets 370 005 and 370 006 in Final APT-P red logo with red stripe livery. ( 5 or 7 train pack) With additional APT-P NDM and APT-P coach packs. BR Class 370 APT-P DTS 370 007. On its own. I wonder if the APT DTS on their own would sell on their own? 370 001 DTS with 370 002 DTS plain yellow fronts. 370 001 DTS with 370 002 DTS both Black window surrounds with APT-P logo. 370 003 DTS with 370 004 DTS plain yellow fronts. 370 003 DTS with 370 004 DTS, both Black window surrounds with APT-P logo. That way moddlers can alternative the livery of the DTS on their APT-P between plain yellow fronts and the final APT-P logo with black window surrounds.
  9. I'm always amazed each year at the new tooled, locos, rolling stock, etc and reintroduced, relievery locos, rolling stock etc. Whatever they announce I'll be amazed guarantee! Other than the increase demand why can't you produce a (????) , whatever they want produced. I did once imagine a fictious comical sinenaro of just how do Hornby and other manufacturers, choose their future years ranges? Perhaps they have a complete database of everything that's ever existed related to the history of all things British Railways related. They use a giant tombola bingo wheel with thousands of numbered balls inside. The handle is either turned by Simon and Montana or even Michael or anyone else at Hornby. Which ever random ball is picked out of the machine the corresponding number to the listed database is picked then they start to begin to develop and produce that very model.
  10. Ah our beloved beautiful Crown Dependency the Isle of Man a charming stunning British Isle mixed with British and Celtic history. Agreed I have the Oxford static model i picked it up at Rails in one of their sales, I'd love to see Hornby venture into Narrow gauge railways. The Isle of Man is one of favourites I went there in 1997 age 6 and absolutely loved it truly is a stunning railway with beautiful locomotives and rolling stock amongst beautiful Manx countryside!
  11. New tooled LMS Railway dynamometer car BR Class 70 (electric) built 1941, 1945, 1948 BR Class 80 built 1951 rebuilt 1958 BR AC Electrics Classes 81, 83 and 84
  12. New tool Rainhill trails Sans Pareil Novelty Steam LMS 6399 Fury Sorry if this has been mentioned here Class 37 ( the 2023 catalogue blurred preview looks like one) )New Modellers Shop- Hornby 2023 Catalogue - 69th Edition link Prototype HST Class 41 Power cars with additional MK3 coaches 2022 tooling's. Class 140 Pacer Railbus ( I am probably in a minority with this one) Reintroduced Class 142 Railbus (Railroad now) Class 33 RailRaod (BR Blue) BR Motorail Car transporter (2009 last produced. Class 466 I would like to see special commentative limited edition Hornby Railways 1978 - onwards era products re produced produced given the popularity with Hornby Dublo and Tri-Ang.
  13. I really do like that Hornby have continued to use their ex Lima Class 43 HST Power Cars toolings, for the RailRoad range( the BR INTERCITY swallow power cars look very nice). For people on a lesser budget, new to the hobby, younger people, less detail etc. I am just surpised that one of their older tollings for the BR MK3 carriages hasn't been reintroduced separately and made it into the RailRoad range separate alongside in the same appropriate livery as the power cars train packs. standard open, first, buffet, and TGS other than the standard open MK3 coach which is included in the R1230M HST Train set . Has this been mentioned before?
  14. Apologies Andy! I assumed I already typed Hornby - into the title when i submitted the post! Thank you!
  15. They should have closed the welcome letter with, "It's great to have you on board as a member! Kind regards, The Hornby TT:120 Club Team."
  16. Apologies. I should have been more specific I did mean in this post. That could Hornby possibly produce new CAD scans on the actual surviving perserved locos etc of their old toolings and produce newly tooled ones for TT:120 of the original classic Hornby 00 gauge locomotives. An example Bachmann and Hornby both produce their own A4s for an example. Would demand be there for a new Class 52 Western In TT:120 for example? I personally would certainly buy one. But I guess it affectively boils down to if the cost and the demand both match. Who knows what surprises Hornby have up their sleeves for TT-120?
  17. I wonder of Hornby will newly tooled from their 00 old and new toolings for TT-120? Diesel Class 06 Class 20 Class 25 Sulzer Type 2 Class 29 Class 33 Class 35 Hymek Class 40 Class 42 Warship Class 52 Western Class 55 Class 56 Class 58 Class 59 Class 67 Electric Class 71 Class 81 Class 86 Class 87 Class 91 Class 92 DMU 101 110 121 142 Pacer 153 155 EMU Class 370 APT-P Class 373 Eurostar Class 390 Pendolino
  18. It's very exciting and we are only in phase one.! By phase four there will be more steam diesel and electric locomotives, passanger and freight rolling stock EMUS, DMUS train sets added. Class 37s are arriving .So perhaps the HST Train sets were leaked along with the Pullman train set. Perhaps there could be a hint of what's to come further down the line (no pun intended) Intercity 225, Hitachi Class 800s, Eurostar Class 373, Class 370 APT-P, of the Hornby TT:120 range. A single and double level crossing will probably arrive soon I should imagine!
  19. Probably a stupid question but I wonder if the Hornby TT:120 range will appear in the 2023 catalogue? Being web excusives only. I've just looked at them on the bookcase I've just noticed 2019 was the last time the spine read OO Gauge from 2020 onwards the 2021 and 2022 catalogues this was omnited to just Model railways and accessories.
  20. Thank you I know id love one as a train set all rolling stock track controller etc. Although for some reason i love it whenever Hornby issues them as complete train sets😀 Hopefully phase 4 will include one!
  21. Two HST Train sets HST train set And LNER East Coast Mainline HST train set They both sound amazing where are they please? I couldn't see them anywhere?
  22. Wow the Hornby TT:120 certainly was unexpected! Vert exciting smaller than OO Gauge Bigger than N Gauge. The range looks fantastic I'm surprised the range is as large as it is. Hornby if you are listing I would like an Hornby TT:120 InterCity 125 train set in original BR blue. WIth a oval of track, train controller mains and the rolling stock other than the Class 43 power cars in original BR Blue with one standard open MK3 coach and a first class MK3 coach.
  23. Yes with a free blu ray disc featuring interviews recorded in 2022 of the 1980 Hornby catalogue family.
  24. I hope it really is something really exciting as they are saying "we don't want to miss this special train". So it's not just a locomotive on its own as they describe "train"! I'd feel let down if its just a new fictional livery Class 101 Holden with a few wagons and a break van! It's only under a day left to go.
