  2. I booked xmas off so loads of modelling time. Was feeling a bit down that it was nearing the time to return to work. Feeling down turned to feeling ill. One positive test later.

  6. I'm quite impressed with the Hornby TTS 08623. I was looking for excuses to not buy it when i discovered it is one of the few 08's i've actually driven.

      As an S&T man i'm rather lucky to have driven as many locos as i have. By driven i mean sat in the seat and pulled the handle. I don't sign any form of traction i've just 'had a go'...

  7. I was 40 something and my girlfriend had just turned 21. We haddriven for miles along a dirt track in the Fens when we came upon a little old lady sitting on a chair in her garden with a blanket over her knees and a rifle resting ready to fire. Thats how Mrs LNERGE met my Mum......

      Superstar microphone from B&M. Pound shop batteries are lasting really well. One of these each and two packs of pound shop batteries should provide a couple of weeks entertainment....unless anything else happens in the meantime.

      I deepened the slot the centre axle sits in. It all comes apart really easy and only takes a minute start to finish.

      I was thinking more along the lines of a continuously variable one, DAF-style. Imagine if that were possible for a model gearbox!

      No. The point motor is actually inside the signalbox. All the trains are generated by a simulator.

      I've had to leave afew people behind in hospitals but i've generally come away with more (my nine plus being a birthing partner twice) This is my first really negative experience but to be fair today was straight in and out. (five pages of the new M&GN book read whilst waiting)

  19. My Pul Syn Etic headmasters attachment works beautifully on the test bench. Now allocating a pair of wires in various cables from Ely Dock operating floor to the house. Does Mrs LNERGE really know what she has let herself in for?

  21. The 22 month old twins were introduced to the Vulcan today... and loved it. The girl was waving away despite it sounding like it was ripping the sky apart and the boy simply followed it's every move. I was expecting a screaming fit.
