  1. An ideal way to spend a day to foster Father/offspring bonding.
  2. The other viaducts sit in the landscape around them. For Ribblehead - the landscape sits around it..
  3. It doesn't just take the "wrong type of layout" to bring out those attributes in some (thankfully very few) exhibition attendees
  4. Or in my case (and HH) for a few years Driving Standards Agency
  5. I didn't think a Rascal could go fast enough to be rolled. We had a subcontractor that bought them for the sparkies to use. They soon got rid of them as they ended up paying more overtime when travelling between worksites!
  6. Yeah - that name on the road must really confuse it............
  7. We got this instead of a "medium size" (for the same price) whilst visiting the US in 2017. Fitted in nicely in South Carolina/Georgia. All we were missing to be a true local was a gun rack in the cab.
  8. That's called missile lock..........
  9. I often use the Bluetooth connectivity to play my own music choice from my phone, rather than some of the stuff pumped out by radio channels.
  10. Footbridge with lifts allows reinstatement of rail traffic and more trucks off the narrow roads the area. For me - they could build it in unclad steel if it means less trucks on the roads, but at least some effort has been made for it to blend in with the local architecture. Give it 3-5 years and it'll have weathered down nicely in the gloriously sunny southern Yorkshire Dales...........
  11. Lifts it is: https://www.networkrailmediacentre.co.uk/news/major-accessibility-and-safety-upgrade-at-horton-in-ribblesdale-station-1 (I've seen an image somewhere and can't immediately find it)
  12. Or should I use the Agree tick?
  13. Yep, there are intermediate block signals at Horton. Used to be visible on the webcam, when it works.......
  14. And the Clitheroe cement seems to be running again. All of these making up tonnage for the lost coal traffic!
  15. And someone on social media suggested that weathering covers up the detail! How wrong were they?
  16. Thanks - I didn't know it was roaded north. Arcow splits into three for loading due to the length of the loading bank. At least they can shuffle the train there without blocking any pathways.
  17. They introduce quiet zones because of local concerns of noise pollution. And then the locals get upset when someone gets run over by a train because they didn't hear it coming.
  18. I thought the Ribblehead stone came from Ingleton Quarry [*] and Horton was still roaded out as normal - mostly via Settle town centre. [*]There's a lot of trucks shuttling up and down the Chapel-Le-Dale road. Having said that, both Ingleton and Horton are currently operated by Heidleberg, so some of it may go out via Ribblehead sidings. I probably need a long lunchbreak trip to investigate! Operation of the rail sidings should be similar to that to the nearby Arcow quarry.
  19. Is that for fitting to Western Region allocated locos?
  20. Xpressnet - so Roco and Lenz for starters. (The original graphic for the dongle had a Roc Z21 and Lenz Compact in the image). Digikeijs DR500 also has an Xpressnet port. There are other systems as well.
  21. Sounds like more wall painting to come?
  22. Maybe it'll bring an end to the RedBull show that accompanies the C4F1 TV transmission?
