  1. Is that just after your keyboard broke?
  2. I used to play in Slaidburn Silver Band - is that the same?
  3. From a previous post by MCC we expect them to ship just after CNY by sea. This will mean an expected arrival bang on time for the end of Q1 2024. I reckon that it'll be close run thing. Unless the "ship" is a 747F........ 😄
  4. So you haven't been past the RTC site at Derby recently? (Which my layout is based upon) Close your eyes at 7.06......
  5. There are some who might agree with you................... 👿
  6. Likewise - I do the outward [*] packing at NB Towers. Mrs NB is responsible for tickets/money/passports. I usually distribute a few items of each other's clothing between the two cases in the event of one going AWOL on the outward leg as well as having the ability to pack stuff in smaller spaces more efficiently. However, a further consideration for the upcoming trip is the increasing number of items that have been delivered to NB Towers, courtesy of Junior NB and the large south American river company. Apparently, we have been tasked with mule duties for stuff that isn't readily/cheaply available in UAE. A warning message was issued on the family Whatsapp group earlier to the effect of "no more deliveries, or they get left behind" [*] "Although I will carry it, you're responsible for packing your own case on the way home and if your stuff doesn't fit, don't come looking at me and my half-empty case"
  7. I'm hoping that where I'm headed for, a waterproof garment is not a requisite....
  8. Not just liveries. The cab profiles vary according to the batch that the donor comes from. Just compare the ledge under the front cab windows of 001 with 002 for starters. 001 is gently curved/ridged, 002 is flat and angular. Cab door handrails can also vary. Some are round, some are flat. 69004 has both!
  9. IIRC, the Hattons decoder for the 66 is 6x full power output. i.e. if the loco requires logic level outputs for AUX3/AUX 4 (and above), then the Hattons decoder will not operate them. It will control F0f/F0r/AUX1 and AUX2 - what turns on will depend upon what is connected to those outputs within the loco.
  10. Regarding clothes shopping for holidays. I may be fortunate in that Mrs NB dislikes clothes shopping as much as I do. However: Mrs NB has had numerous mail order parcels arrive in the last couple of weeks. She's of a partcular shape/size that one brand's size is not the same as that of another different brand. Much gnashing of teeth and "does my b*m look big in this" conversations entail....... I have learnt to be "diplomatic" after many years. But - guess who gets tasked with sorting out the returns parcels? Having said that, it's less onerous than "real" shopping. Without me knowing, she bought me a new shirt for an upcoming holiday. A quick twirl (TM HH) , tick the box for "too small" and a replacement arrived a couple days later. Sorted. And that's it. My holiday clothing need is satisfied.
  11. Or in the case of the 'net, you cannot please some of the people, all of the time.
  12. But there would be 4x as many moans all coming at once......
  13. That would be why I missed it! 😉😀
  14. No mention of the "new tooling" Collector's club model - or did I miss it?
  15. Only marginally cleaner than the River Irwell.....
  16. They've done removable panels for decoder fitting on the 350 and 158 - albeit not the roof - but still removable.
  17. And Boddingtons brewery next to Manchester Victoria *apparently* used water from the passing River Irwell.... which also meandered through the grounds of Salford Uni where I once frequented. Let's just say that you wouldn't swim in it. I guess that's why I never developed a taste for beer
