  1. <snipped> Hi there, What is your point here? You acknowledge that there is extra detail - which obviously costs - then say it’s just an excuse to put prices up. Model railways appears to be booming in the UK right now in terms of numbers of manufacturers, range of products on offer, positive media exposure and attendances at shows. I put that down to the hobby finally shaking off the ‘toy town’ image with high end, quality models that customers can be proud to own. I’d argue the one way Hornby can guarantee failure in TT120 is by lowering quality to reduce costs. I’ve preordered a class 66 as I’m excited about this new scale but if what arrives is cheap railroad standard I’m out. cheers Ben A.
  2. Well yes, that’s precisely why those of us who prefer N choose it. For me creating an entire, plausible scene is the point. The locomotives and rolling stock are just the actors in the play. I am very interested in following TT120’s progress, and having seen and operated the HST and Class 50 at GETS I think the scale has enormous potential. cheers Ben A.
  3. Hi all, For those who couldn't make it to Taunton here are is a shot of the Class 18 operating on Oak Road, built and owned by @Revolution Mike B As with all EP samples there are some issues which need correcting - eg the fit of some parts will be refined and the sand pipes are a little too long, so they were catching on the high ballast on the rear siding of the virtual quarry - but broadly speaking the model is where we expect it to be at this stage. cheers Ben A.
  4. Hello, If anyone is having issues with their models please email the support address in the instructions and our customer services manager Simon will endeavour to assist. He will also identify if these are faults with the model in which case we can rectify. cheers Ben A.
  5. Wow- those coaches are gorgeous, but I am not sure I ever saw them get down as far as Sicily! I may have to see if I can get some nevertheless! cheers Ben A.
  6. There's a video showing the sample on our Facebook page, plus images on our website, and we will have these samples (or decorated ones, if they arrive in time) on show at Warley. cheers Ben A.
  7. Hi all, There is more information about the N decorated samples on the Revolution Trains news page. cheers Ben A.
  8. Hello all, The pre-order price will hold until the models are ready to go into production. This will not be before the end of 2023. cheers Ben A.
  9. Hi all, I had never heard of Bradley Manor until it was mentioned in this thread yesterday. Again, it is nothing to do with Revolution. cheers Ben A.
  10. Our project page always has the latest. The working samples were on display at The International N Gauge Show and GETS. We may have decorated samples in time for Warley. cheers Ben A.
  11. Hello all, Anyone who has an outstanding balance will receive an email soon with instructions on how to pay. Then we can process the postage and send the model. However as we were all at GETS over the weekend these emails are likely to go out later in the week. cheers Ben A.
  12. Hi there, I am not sure who Bradley Manor is but he is nothing to do with Revolution! 😂 cheers Ben A.
  13. Hi there, If you have any uncertainly please contact our customer support manager using the email in the instruction. However, please note that we are closed until the middle of the week as we were at GETS this weekend.fd cheers Ben A.
  14. Hi all, The eagle-eyed may spot in melangoose's image above that the centre of the deck on the log carrier has popped up. I apologise - this was operator error when I placed it in the display; it does normally sit flat! cheers Ben A.
  15. The reason for one power and one trailer bogie on this unit was it gives us both types for future models. cheers Ben A.
  16. Hello all, Revolution Trains will be there as usual, with some new samples to show and of course ready to chat to all about new projects, existing ones and listen to feedback and suggestions. Those who have already contacted us can also collect their new Class 128 parcels units and Avanti/Virgin Pride Pendolinos. cheers Ben A.
  17. Hi there, it sounds like they’re arranged as they should be and all is well. I was just concerned at your ‘wafting in the air’ remark that suggested they were not in contact with anything. cheers Ben A.
  18. Hi there, The phosphor-bronze tabs should have current collection tabs from the axle pin-points bearing up onto the underside. If they are not present then your model will be collecting power from a single bogie only; in which case please contact our customer support manager Simon and he can assist. cheers Ben A.
  19. Hello all, The Class 128s have arrived and after being checked over we will begin sending them out to paid up pre-order customers this week. In due course we will also send out balance payment requests to those who are not fully paid up, and also send stocks to retailers. cheers Ben A.
  20. Hello Rich, I was wrong - I checked and the yellow on the sample isn't the specified colour and is too lemony. When these wagons go into production in the New Year we will ensure the colour is corrected. cheers Ben A.
  21. Hi there, At the NGS annivesary exhibition at the NRM in May Mr Hiroshi Kato gave a talk. It focussed primarily on the development of the Kato US 'Big Boy' steam locomotive, and the technical challenges that had to be overcome, but he did mention that Kato are tooling the additional cars to produce the 9-car IET/Azuma trains. He added that development of these would not be complete until 2024, which is probably why nothing more formal has been said. It appears to me that Kato are fairly consistent in only announcing details of new models when they are not far from being with stockists. cheers Ben A.
  22. Hi there, Although your Class 17 is blue all were withdrawn by 1971 so there was crossover of liveries to the end. Revolution Trains sturgeon wagon: https://www.railscot.co.uk/img/19/442/ Farish BR brakevan: Farish brake van again; Revolution Trains Class B tankers behind, though I don't know if the Clayton was collecting any! Farish minerals: They had such a short service life (5-odd years?) that there aren't that many photos online. cheers Ben A.
  23. Hi Ian, The Fort William and Aberdeen portions sometimes 'swap' - with one or two of the sleepers that would normally go to Aberdeen being assigned to Fort William instead to satisfy summer tourist season demand. cheers Ben A.
  24. Hi all, Can I ask those interested to start a separate thread on the Landrover boxes as they aren't the subject of this model. cheers Ben A.
