    John Farrow

Gosh, that’s such sad news. Knew John well from when I used to go on his Hertfordshire Railtours in the 80”s. A sad loss - RIP John. May God bless you and thank you for many happy days out.
  2. Thank you both, I wasn’t lubricating the wire and I will file the end to to see if that makes a difference. Really appreciate your ideas, will report back!
  3. Hi all, hope you are keeping safe and well. I’m in the process of restoring my OO gauge layout “Rectory Lane”. The track is generally in good condition with the exception of one point which was not working. I have put a new tie bar on and the point works freely now. This afternoon I went to run some new wire down the tube that controls the point - the wire gets 2/3 or 1/3 the way through the tube depending on which end I start at, then gets stuck! Does anyone have any suggestions please how I could unblock the tube (I’ve tried slightly bigger wire and that get stuck too). I really don’t want to have to do a new run of tube as it goes through some scenery that I’d like to keep if at all possible. Thanks in advance for any ideas - stay safe, well and happy.
  4. I remember the TR site before they built those buildings. As a lad (and with non driving parents), we used to wait for the bus home to west Bletchley after trips to London and Kent. Recall the old carriage sheds before they were demolished - gosh I feel old!
  5. Sorry for resurrecting an old thread. I bought a Hornby class 37 TTS chip to go in my Bachmann class 37 (8 pin socket). The sound worked briefly when I installed the chip this morning, but then stopped and now won’t produce any sounds at all. The sound chip gets too hot to touch, the loco still responds to standard motor instructions (forward, reverse, speed, etc.). Does anyone have any idea so to assist me please, worried to put the loco back on the track because of the heat in the sound chip! Thanks in advance, stay safe and well.
  6. That's the first photo I have seen of 31's on the Amey's. Wonder if they had taken over from something that had failed.
  7. Praying for a full and speedy recovery
  8. Sorry for going slightly off topic, but there was mention of the 1986 Bedford river festival a while back. The green Cravens unit ran a special Sunday service to the event - here are a few of my photos of it along the branch.
  9. Sorry for my ignorance, but are these available in the UK at present. Take care and stay safe
  10. Thanks. The decoders are fitted in ok (I have checked) as they work when I select their address, just run very jerkily!
  11. Could someone please tell me how to remove one of the drive shafts - I have 2 very jerky running 121s! Thank you
  12. Fab issue, well done to everyone involved with its production. Being a London boy born in the late 60s, it bought back many childhood memories of BR around ‘the smoke’
  13. For me, it’s the 310s. Sent several years commuting from Bletchley to Euston on them. So comfy, warm and reliable. Even better a pre-refurb one without the gangway at the guards van end of the motor coach and the original wooden panelling - happy days!
  14. Hi, I have four of these point motors on my layout to operate the fiddle yard points. One is not working, does anyone have any idea of their make, etc. Thanks in advance.
  15. Understandable about selling equipment from sites because of possessions, etc. but its sad that they won't give individuals the chance to buy items post removal. I approached NR to purchase some equipment when they removed the semaphores from the Walsall to Rugeley line a few year back - got told that the didn't deal with individuals. At least a lots of the old signals went to the Chasewater railway for use there
  16. Really like the cassettes, are you going to produce any for sale please
  17. Simplenote is really good - and free! I have it on my iPad, Android phone and Windows Laptop and it syncs perfectly.
  18. 08221, 08403 and 08235 were my favourite 3 - have models of them all and the Bachmann green 08011 too. Happy memories - any photos of the above would be very welcome! Take care and stay safe.
  19. Jim, I don’t post much on here, but that cause is wonderful. if you could postt any further information if you get it, it would be much appreciated. Havent been on a rail tour for over 25 years, but I so want to go on at least a part of that trip. To see companies in this day and age make a positive difference to people lives is a rarity and deserves our support. Blessings.
  20. Is the cable from the controller plugged into the correct socket - one socket displays correctly but does not pass power to the track, the other one does.
  21. A few photos from tonights chilly running session... Class 128 in the bay platform 47147 on a short stone train 25313 on a couple of fertilizer wagons 33212 works an Amey Roadstone to Rectory Lane Almost a full house!
