  1. Looks really good mate , reminds me of Stratford upon Avon not sure why !
  2. Just to let you know I'm still here and the yards in regular use TBH, my concentration for small tasks and intricate tasks has all but deserted me over the last few months. I've got a number of projects I just can't get stuck into at present . I'm quite happy coming in the spare room shed and shunting about or making up a few trains. I am enthusiastic about a new plank though, but I have about three ideas, at least one of which is a better version of this one. Must get motivated at some point .
  3. Ah ok , Might go with a half station then and run 2 coaches into the platform . Can someone tell me how long the carriages are please ?
  4. Hi, Is it possible to run one of these as a 2 car ? I.e. Is the motor gibbons in the middle car or one end, and if so can the two outlets be coupled together ? Need a turbo, but not a 3 car ! Cheers Rob
  5. Nice work ! I haven't used wire in tube, I've always used metal tube and metal rod to operate points - disadvantage is my models are all flat at front as the tube runs through for he cork underlay. I'm still tempted to use them in next one, as the new peco bullhead will be unifrog and I still won't need the complexity of polarity switches
  6. Good work.....no doubt you've noticed the fox ( ?) ews numbers ain't quite the same colour as Bachmann. I think railtec were doing something. To address this
  7. Hmmm, Doesn't look like what I was expecting, i.e. A younger druggie waster.
  8. My mum gave me the October edition she picked up at chinnor. Not bad for a free read and better than most other things printed on newspaper !
  9. Good stuff. Right up my alley.
  10. Yeah, I'm no expert, but even I realise you have to have modern infrastructure if your going to run modern trains, some layouts have great amounts of stock but seems to be running in a 60s environment.
  11. Yeah, I still use some of them, but I hate them. I've tried all above and they still clog up, and I get fed up buying replacement nozzles at 50p a go. Halfords, on the other hand, have never failed me, ever. And they spray ok in wet, cold etc. Much better product as car resprayers I doubt would put up with what we do.
  12. Interesting techniques and a great result !
  13. What a lot of waffle When are the points coming ? That is all.
  14. No , I only came here 7 years ago as a defence against the house prices further up the M4 to where I came from in Bucks. At least it still has up to two freight trains a day for the car and scrap works ...
  15. The cliffs and sea are just a dream from inside this post industrial hell.....!
  16. I love your stock, but the wicker cliffs behind kinda ruin the overall picture !
  17. I agree with our departmental friend ADB968008, Hornby don't look very interested in modern modelling at all. The 56 and even the 60 can be justified, but they hardly pump this stuff out anniversary or not. If they had any interest in diesels they'd get some banger blue fully leaded 31s out- can't get em for love or money but maybe they are still counting the cost of the mazak debacle
  18. Don't beat yourself up , it's easy to make an error with so many ( 50?) shades of grey !
  19. It's interesting that three of the locations mentioned were associated with one flow..... Neasden, proplogis and now DIRFT, - were for French bottled water which I believe still goes in cargowaggon. These trains are pretty long - if it's a shorter sort of enterprise thing you are after, I'd have a look at the metal box workings to. Worcester and elsewhere, couple of cargo wagons.
  20. Yeah but he's not modelling contemporary is he ? 80s/90s when eventhen there was more variety. Also I think your barking up the wrong tree with your central depot theory for fuel - I do t imagine they go there very often at all and quite often I've seen fuelling from road tankers these days , But again it's not relevant to his period
