  1. wow, you guys are brave. I think I'd suggest my hobby was machine gunning cute and cuddly puppies before I mention the trains... a former girlfriend did accompany me to the Toton open day, but I'd had enough time to brainwash her before..
  2. intriguing el captain. when you look a google earth photos of st blazey, in one if them there are 7 or so 66s stabled....not the case now of course. I never really minded what the traction was as long as the freight continued and thought the area would make a good layout right up to the early 00s. I went down there last year and managed to find no clay trains at all... did find some choppers and Hawks at chivenor though.
  3. you paint one laudhaul though and that says post 2000 preservation which makes a mockery of the rest. nice layout, for me it oozes laira...
  4. Love these sort of photos. Just shows more freight loss unfortunately. DBS cant have any work around Plymouth now i guess.
  5. I wouldn't ... I've got '268 and it's great. I'd look for another and renumber it.
  6. Indeed, I'm no longer in the area but John was always very helpful in the past
  7. Hi, I love the layout. I'm all for depot layouts but they have to be believable like this one. I think a major failure of alot is using unsuitable generic buildings or steam era infrastructure with the latest class 66s which they dont need anymore.
  8. I'm wondering which period has the most potential for a model of Aylesbury . It would be nice to have the sector 56/60s on bins and stone, but had the parcels finished by then ? Latest photo I've seen of parcels was 1988. One working I'd love to model is the underground stock moves through there I'm pinching alot of bucks/ icon freight to represent on my plank " run round sidings "
  9. Thanks for the gen... I had Neil do a respray for me in the past and it was excellent.
  10. Interesting as ever..... If anyone is interested in Princes Risborough, there are some excellent pictures on djipix.com of rare loco hauled services - both passsenger and freight around PR in the 80s.
  11. In the words of my avatar , " it's nicccceee". What's the story behind 37219 ? Very large arrows of confusion , is that a Bachmann 37 fully pimped ?
  12. Don't give yourself high blood pressure 60098, I would say bachmanns record of cock ups is not as long as distinguished as a certain other manufacturer. You'll probably find that to renumbering a weathered 47190 won't be too bad as I bet the weathering doesn't go that high...alternatively someone will swap you a body ? I just wish they'd do a 47/3 in ' dutch'. I wonder if they watch eBay and see what prices 37035 goes for...
  13. Used to go clubbing in Aylesbury. Unfortunately it's now associated in my mind with 7/7 ...
  14. Nice work Mick. You certainly make the contemporary railway look interesting again
  15. Good to see these resurrected.... Nice photos. I found on flickr by chance yesterday a photo of a BR blue 31 running through Wycombe with coal and what looks like bogie BGs bound for P Risborough. I guess it was acton - chinnor speedlink.
  16. Indeed crompton, most TMDs just act as a display case. This layout I like because the emphasis is on accurate stock , and it obviously operates like the real thing due to the builders inside knowledge.
  17. Looking excellent , just need lots of clutter fog inside now
  18. RE the dodgy grey on 47365, just got emal from barwell confirming it will be changed on production items
  19. Excellent, like the snow effect. I guess most of the stock wouldn't be there long enough to get snowy roofs thus avoiding the dilemma of adding it or not !
  20. Possibly, but if I assume they'll change it, I could make an ass out of u and me ....
  21. Yes, jim, did that and also class 47.co.uk. As matt put it a bit more succinctly - all details right for rfd revised except glaring upper grey band which is far too light. I emailed Bachmann too, and kernow as well as it may grab their attention better from a retailer.
  22. Just seen the preproduction shots of 47365 on Kernow's website............... It seems an odd livery , I would like to know what the basis is or whether this is a cock up in the making... Original RFD 3TG, but with revised RFD lettering, logo position, channel tunnel polos and blue roof ? surely not ?
