  1. Hi HSTFAN13, Interestingly, Realtimetrains http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/R73361/2013/09/16/advanced still call Sellafield, Sellafield B.N.F, (also the link is for the derailed train - This service was cancelled between Salthouse Jn and Sellafield B.N.F. due to problem with the infrastructure!!!!!), as do Network Rail in their working timetable. So I was thinking assuming that kevpeo may well have meant the same, but of course, only he can comment on this.... Kind regards Ian
  2. Do we think they went for fuel!!! Just out of interest, do we know which two locos they were? Ian
  3. And from the pages of DRS http://www.directrailservices.com/Portals/0/DRS%20Brief%20No%203%20%20%20%20Last%20Updated%2017.9.13%2010.30am.pdf
  4. Fair point Kev, Option 3... Ulverston, has a cross over point, an 24hr box and a siding to store a few units, and only 20 mins by road to Barrow!
  5. Hi Kev, Just seen this on the local news... Option 2, Trains run Barrow - Park South - Dalton Jc - Dalton, all that would happen is Roose gets missed out and takes a few mins longer http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-cumbria-24114294 Are there still road works at Greenodd? Bet makes the trip from Grange fun!!! Ian

  7. Why is it when you seem to find a few extra quid, you also find an unexpected bill!

Sometimes you feel like a pelican; whichever way you turn, you've still got an enormous bill in front of you.

  9. There was a small wagon works at Carnforth station (in the triangle just West of the station between the Leeds line, Barrow line and the former siding that had the Leeds/Barrow line that avoided the station). It was a single road shed with two short lines next to it. I am not sure when it closed, but if memory serves me correctly it was around ten years back. It always had an 08 there and some rusty P Way wagons........ I can't seems to copy a link to, or a photo from Google earth. But if you type "Carnforth station, Warton Road" in, and look at the area between Warton Road and Shore Road. It now look like a trading estate, but the track work is still in place. Hope this may be of some use Ian
  10. I see as I passed Hest Bank yesterday that the house by the level crossing (under the foot bridge, same side as the signal box), is now a pile of bricks!!! Something else gone of ever....... Ian
