  13. Hi Jim, Nice photos, So the good news is it's not just the model ones they like to sit on, but at least with the full size ones the hair does not get in the way!!! Kind regards Ian
  14. The offices at work were part of Lancaster's first railway station, the then terminus of the Preston and Lancaster Railway. The public car park at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary was part of the yard with the remains of the former station building on the end of it. It even has a blue plaque on the less used side to recognise this. Now I just need a job in the offices then I could sit and day dream........ Ian
  15. Today I have made it down to Carnforth following surgery on my knee, all was going sort of well until I turned on the camera, and have not charged the battery!!!! Still I managed to get a few shots, and even got one for Jack374... Ex EWS 08418 - note the head board above the front buffer nearest to the camera! 156451 arriving with the 2C42 Carlisle to Lancaster via Barrow in Furness. DRS 57012 on a light engine movement from Carlisle Kingmoor to Carnforth D&UGL via the Cumbrian coast line, it was running some 86 mins late And for Holland Park we have...... Ex Intercity BSO 9496 And one of the towers, once I am more mobile I will get you some shots of the sheds and water tower. That's it for now... Kind regards Ian
  16. The view from my daughters bed room, I look out to see the coaling tower and ash plant at Carnforth, both of which are looking a bit sad. sadly, despite constant telling training, she thinks the view of the Lakeland hills and Morecambe bay look better........ Ian

    Foxthwaite

Well, having spent a week at home sat doing very little following an operation, I thought that I would see what building bit I have, and do something with them.... So far, it has been decided that Foxthwaite would have in its day been a large cattle transport station (namely to fill a gap!!!!). with this in mind I found some Wills stone sheets that I had left over from the bridge, and I ordered the cobbles which arrived within 24hrs..... Not bad for Royal Mail! And here is what we have so far... I have some fencing to go on so that is for the weekend or next week! Likewise, I found some Southeast Finecast Flemish bond brick embossed plastic card, I got this after a previous attempt for a building using Slaters embossed card, but I found that the bricks did not line up very well. I found this stuff better to work with, and it lines up very well. Now just the roof and inside to work on.... Ian
  19. is awating Royal Mail to deliver parts to finish the cattle dock!

  24. Well, today I went looking around the back of WCR Carnforth for the two EWS 08's.... They seem to have been having a bit of a tidy up, with the pile of scrap getting bigger, and less past their best coaches and locos lying around!!! A little while back (see post #1), I found the remains of 34073 Battle of Britain class 249 Squadron. Local chatter said that what remains would be used as parts for 34067 Tangmere. Today this looks to be the case as the boiler and smoke box have gone, leaving the frames, cylinders and wheels.... Ex Fragonset 47355 with coach remains The pile of scarp Former BR mark 1 sleeper Ex BR Mark 2 Pullman coach City of Manchester Some of the former mark 1 RES and EWS parcels stock is now making its way into view, the question is, is that going to be turned into razor blades?
