Mark 5, By Accurascale
McC replied to Accurascale Fran's topic in Accurascale / Irish Railway Models
Fran will perhaps have more details next week but we have been working with DCC Concepts (and indeed some regular posters on here) for a plug in solution. In the mean time feel free to drop support a line. -
Generally we secure direct orders and trade purchase orders and then manufacture between 33 and 75-% more again on top. In some cases that headroom sells out in a day in others it lasts more as intended for 6-12 months. It’s not an exact science but with reruns and restocks we are slowly moving to a more traditional stock holding model as was our goal on day 1.

We processed the RTC packs first as they were simplest and as always the balance of stock once all preorders were allocated was offered on the website. This was about 50 packs in total. Nothing in any way nefarious and identical to how we process every preorder. All preorder customers orders are in the queue and the handful who were lucky today get added to the end. The first hundred or so we also managed to ship today. -

Do drop us a note - sounds like a formatting issue rather than a glitch tho :) -

Included as standard. We would never photograph a model with after market accessories fitted :) HTH! -

On both the Deltic and the Class 50 the chain is connected to a bracket mounted on what is effectively the body. This is one reason why attaching it to the chassis is not as easy as the Class 37, where the chain bracket is actually mounted direct to the underside of the chassis on the real thing! The Deltic and Class 50 also require the base of the chassis to be much higher than the bottom of the body in order to accommodate the wheels (flanges and all), especially for guys that might want to install scale diameter OO, EM or P4 wheels. This means having cutouts in the body for the brackets which will make body removal more tricky and would also likely incur a visual penalty as well. It's not as simple as just "fitting it on the chassis". Long story short, they will be easily attached as per the real thing, in a manner that will allow for body removal when needed, and still retail an accurate appearance. -

None at all remotely taken. We are grey / charcoal boxes tho to stick with the box based nomenclature 😃 -

I am a proud Irishman but with 3 irish team members and 12 british it’s probably unfair to label us the emerald team ;) -
DCC definitions... an update required?
McC replied to Pendle Forest's topic in DCC Discussion Topics (not questions)
See non OEM licensing and costs. When you buy a stand alone decoder you pay for a lot more than just components. The discussion , with respect to the OP, is about definition of DCC ready, fitted, etc not specific manufacturer issues. My question was if it made sense to the customer to include a decoder as standard in all locos for a small additional cost (also offset by the fact you don’t need to prepare, package and post that decoder separately. -

Agree. Does that not place the argument back in favour of fitted a quality decoder that is good enough as standard?
