They do have excellent motors which already are a significant percentage of the overall cost of the unit with each motor specified and wound for the performance needed for the specific locomotive. It’s our intention to provide motors as accessories shortly as well of course as providing the option for low or at cost repair /replacement for anything outside the Warranty

The support team will be able to help you out (I doubt the RMweb members will be of much use in this case :) )

All files other than the first gen Class 92 are built in house with our Jamie Goodman and the team at ESU. Hth! -
I agree, unwarranted negativity and repetition of hearsay is to be avoided. Fwiw, personally, I am an extremely happy SLW customer, with several 24's and a 25 on the way, and they are among my favourite locos and always worth the wait.

- Lifetime is the normal operation of the model up to the point of failure caused by normal wear and tear. - Yes, the warranty applies to the original purchaser, as long as the other criteria are met (bought direct, or from a registered stockist) - If a faulty component was the case of the fire, then it is covered by warranty - There are no factory fitted third party decoders.

We might have a few more team members now but we definitely started as small. We just grew up very fast :)

Versus how many were made?

I speak from personal experience of Select, and Elite, and then moving to 'real' controllers. As to the stay alive, it should work on all supporting chips once 14V is supplied at the rails, but of course the platform is built and designed for ESU lokpilots and loksounds, none of which use any non compliant values. My point remains, that our support team are best placed always to provide support and advice.

I’d recommend talking to us again as we’d not have sent it back with a fault. Do you have another controller or a clubayout you could try it out on? Hornby controllers don’t provide very clean power or DCC commands.

We’ve plenty of blue locos and coaches on the way. Just takes a long time and millions of pounds to get there but once tools are done we plan to maintain stock availability annually.

There are onboard integrated circuits which are used to communicate with the LokSound / Pilot chip to achieve the extent of functionality needed - the AUX's are listed on the sound function sheet included with the loco (or on our website) or hop into live chat or drop us an email and we can provide better advice. -

We’d recommend a decoder reset and if no change get onto support and we can arrange a decoder replacement or a full in house service if you prefer. -

We actually have extensive parts of everything that usually needs replacing but as almost every loco has a unique body config it’s not a case of one size fits all. If you’ve smashed a body we could maybe try repair for you but it’s simply not viable to hold painted body shells just in case someone has an accident down the line. I’m sure the support team can provide options and proposals for you.
