  1. Our 92 was probably the first dual motorised OO pantograph equipped model. It is a gimmick but as it was possible with minimal compromise it was worth doing. Likewise illuminated engine rooms or cabs or stay alives built in and lit up dash dials are gimmicky but when done without fidelity compromise it’s worth doing. 👍
  2. At the expense of a raft of compromises in the accuracy and fidelity of the model. A bit like opening coach doors. You can have gimmicks and you can have fidelity but you can’t (yet) have both i’m afraid.
  3. They are all coming in series, with 66, 31, 37, 55, 89, 50 all coming roughly a month apart from March onward, intermingled with the various coaches (Mk2c, Mk1 subs) and wagon projects already announced and on the way, and then of course -all- the unannounced stuff coming too :) (and thats just the D&E category()
  4. For the sake of clarity, in the first instance, I'm not technical support, nor is this forum a point of contact for that team and I'm providing my 'understanding' in this regard :) If you want real data, the support channels you are using, can escalate the issue to ESU and provide better clarity, if it's possible (we can't be experts on third party chips, etc). Secondly, this is pretty normal behaviour for an ESU built system, and parts of the functionality are managed by IC's on the PCB working with the ESU programming. Absolutely all 'core' functions are supported by all standard chips, but we give you something 'extra' by going beyond, just that 'extra' means using the 'as designed' for chip. Not using the ESU chips will mean some of the more complex lighting modes might not be available for you, as there were simply too many options for a regular decoder to run directly. Moving all the lighting to lower AUX would then remove several functions for DC users, which are a larger customer group than those who want to run third party chips in the locos. Like all such things, providing class leading and cutting edge flexibility in lighting and operation, requires some small compromises.
  5. Any high end chip does, the model just has 'extra' additional functions too, which are beyond the specification of DCC / NRMA and pushing the limits of what's possible. Using a third party chip doesnt impact any core function.
  6. Aha! You're not using ESU chips? The Locos are built specifically making use of ESU functionality, with Integrated circuits built in that 'translate' ESU logic to multiple functions. If you ask the team, they can pass on the query to ESU, but using a third party chip simply won't unlock 'all ' the designed functionality.
  7. Delighted to report the Mk2b Irish range / Northern Irish range is now in stock in Dublin, with preorders shipping at the moment ex Dublin and ex UK preorders will ship early next week. https://irishrailwaymodels.com/collections/mark-2-coaches/availability_in-stock If you want a taste of an Accurascale Mark 2 - now is your chance :)
  8. There is extensive information in the manual, in the ESU lok5 manual, and available from us if needed, it's obviously also programmed to work properly out of the box ;)
  9. The irish mk2’s are in Dublin and shipping should start tomorrow. The accurascale mk2 (and banana van) container is now due in about 8 days thanks to Berth congestion due to traffic jams caused by the Houthi issues. We’ll provide updates as always as we have them.
  10. We've done some experimentation with induction LED lamps and various things, but the sheer variation means that for most, it's just not an important enough feature to justify the cost of doing it.
  11. They do have excellent motors which already are a significant percentage of the overall cost of the unit with each motor specified and wound for the performance needed for the specific locomotive. It’s our intention to provide motors as accessories shortly as well of course as providing the option for low or at cost repair /replacement for anything outside the Warranty
  12. The support team will be able to help you out (I doubt the RMweb members will be of much use in this case :) )
  13. There’s some detaul in the launch blog https://www.accurascale.com/en-eu/blogs/news/new-accurascale-exclusive-the-zdv-wagon
  14. Oh we’re always watching. Always 🫣
  15. Considering only 3/17 team members live in Ireland it’s more like not to be 🤪🤪
  16. It simply means that any defect in the materials or assembly of them is covered. Failure due to normal wear and tear isn’t.
  17. All files other than the first gen Class 92 are built in house with our Jamie Goodman and the team at ESU. Hth!
  18. Everything bought from us, or one of our registered stockists is, of course, covered.
  19. We've opened preorders again while they are sorted. https://www.accurascale.com/collections/sr-banana-van
  20. Anything fittied in the factory, is the model, as supplied by us, and covered by our warranty. If you install your own third party decoder after the fact, that's obviously not covered by warranty.
  21. I agree, unwarranted negativity and repetition of hearsay is to be avoided. Fwiw, personally, I am an extremely happy SLW customer, with several 24's and a 25 on the way, and they are among my favourite locos and always worth the wait.
  22. - Lifetime is the normal operation of the model up to the point of failure caused by normal wear and tear. - Yes, the warranty applies to the original purchaser, as long as the other criteria are met (bought direct, or from a registered stockist) - If a faulty component was the case of the fire, then it is covered by warranty - There are no factory fitted third party decoders.
