  1. I'll jog it. 😉 Christmas Eve, 2019. Slated for delivery in Dec. of 2020.
  2. Don't let what I said put you off. Wait till you've seen one in the flesh. The smokebox lines were there on some loco's during the 1960's. Just not so prominent. Preservation is another matter altogether. RD20958. 9F & King at Grosmont. by Ron Fisher, on Flickr RD19709. 92212 at M&4M. by Ron Fisher, on Flickr P
  3. Have you bought one then John? Bringing it tomorrow?
  4. Visually, one area were the Hornby 9F improves over the Bachmann model is the appearance of the interface at the apex of the firebox and boiler. The Bachmann rendering can be seen in the bottom photo in this post: Hornbys rendition (as seen in the phot above) is much nearer the prototype. P
  5. I hope midlandred doesn't mind me using part of his posted image to illustrate: It might just be the lighting but those tooling tooling lines along the boiler/smoke-box look rather prominent. I can't remember seeing anything like that on the prototypes.
  6. You'll be surprised at how strong those 1 mm neodymium magnets are. Especially if two are used in opposition so that the couplings don't need to be handed.
  7. ... and then there was the door louvres and radiator apertures.
  8. Was it that long ago? Quote from Mr Y so far down the page.
  9. So is the announcement of upgrades to the Bachmann model just around the corner? 😇 Nice one Rapido.
  10. Similar story all over with all disciplines I'm guessing. I'll miss the Black Cherry Crumble but on the upside, at least there's a show to go to. I'd better man up on my sandwich making abilities.
  11. I feel free to do so. I'm also addicted to fitting working suspension, sprung draw hooks, detachable head/tailamps etc., etc., etc. I hope to live till I'm 312. 😇 Feel free to browse: https://www.youtube.com/user/PorcyMane/videos
  12. He seems quite an affable chappie complete with his natty line of slippers. Maybe he's just more youchube savvy than most and realises a bit of controversy puts more pennies in his pocket.
  13. I thought they were three of the things modellers obsessed over. 🤔
  14. In all probability they are. Just like the very much earlier class 20's and 37's when the PCB's were updated from 8 pin to 21 pin MTC DCC connectors. Nobody noticed any difference to haulage capacity then. Although I can't be certain until I've seen one but I'd bet good money that the flywheels will have the same mass (and motor) as the 2020 release Class 24 as below.
  15. Strange how the model railway world "influencers" could often save themselves some embarrassment by doing the bare minimum of research. Less than 15 seconds work turned up this from Bachmann. "Building on the impressive specification of the award-winning Bachmann Branchline Class 47, the new Class 37 shares many common features such as the five pole motor with twin flyhwheels"
  16. A question about the latest release Bachmann 37. Something I haven't seen anyone mention so far. Are they still too long over body length to accommodate the nose end PCB's and removable noses? Tia, P
  17. Have you confirmed this with Colin lately? Eilleens no longer offer EM or P4 wheel swops for Peco-Parkside kits as Peco no longer guarantee the kits come with Gibson wheels as standard. Colin has recently brought new products to market such as 14.3 mm dia. conducting wheels as shown below. As with most self produced parts manufactured by one man (and his wife) bands, products do go out of stock until convenient production slots can be found to replenish core products.
  18. Woodburn, until closure, was an offloading point for one of the many Military Ranges in the area for both British & European armed forces. E.g.

  20. I'm glad you made it clear I was still wearing some clothing and it can be seen from the video I kept well to the opposite side of the room. Just accruing evidence for my industrial deafness claim. Remember the folk in the rooms either side of and further down the corridor that asked for copies of the vid so that they can be part of a class action. Ere, this could be turning into the next Wagontha Christie Case.
  21. After deductions for compensation payments for induced industrial deafness, that leaves you owing me, a balance of 3 bottles of Tormore, 21 pints of Guinness and 77 Airfix brake vans. (Brown plastic moulding please, Dapol unacceptable). The freebee Hornby Trout you gave me last week has been taken into account during these calculations. P.s. what's it like being a nephew that looks much older than your uncle?
