  1. Aha... the good ol official portraits of B100925 that appeared as the crazy, mixed up artwork on the Mk1 & MkII Airfix 16ton box. Almost as entertaining as the 2-2-4 4MT.
  2. Emphasis on the word "Carnforth". https://locomotive.fandom.com/wiki/LMS_Ivatt_Class_2_2-6-0_No._46441
  3. Some remained comparatively "square" such a these in 1967.
  4. Thanks for the quick reply. Reminder to self: Turn volume on whist watching youchube vids. Interior veiws? P
  5. Admirably thin tyres on those wheels. Will the production run models with welded end doors have bottom box section corrected? Also going off the light bleed on the pressed end door version, will these wagons have interior detailing? Good to see the rebodied version being covered. P
  6. And you never even mentioned 37047 & 37053 after they'd had their noses picked. Shame on you. :-)

    Q6

I'm well into double figures with Q6 that have been through my hands with problems. Only one so far has had a damaged motor. I'd first check the wiring from the tender plug where it passes under the cab. All that I have seen have had the wiring squashed to varying degrees at this point. Try running the motor with a controlled 12v supply connected directly to the motor terminals and see if it runs hot then. If you still need to change the motor there are plenty that's available that can fit in the space. Not direct replacements but adaptations can be made using simple tools. Some latex tube and a 2mm ball bearing had this one sorted to make enough space for a smoke unit.
  8. To get back to the model, for those "eagerly anticipating" (to use the yoochube influencers term) the arrival of this loco, CMC have a release date of the 31 August 2023 on their website. https://www.cheltenhammodelcentre.com/locomotives/Hornby-r3836-br-standard-2mt-2-6-0-78047-br-black/p-r3836
  9. Would that be the recent Acrylic rail colours or the 1960's/70's authenticolour range? 😉
  10. The shops the photographer stood in to take the piccy are a bit twee too. Whoever heard of a Shipping Butcher? There's a few views of the place on Britain from above.
  11. This one especially, but stick with it to the end. https://youtu.be/72UG18dubLo
  12. For the Bachmann model, I found both the Fox and the Modelmaster (not much chance in getting hold of those at the mo) etched builder plates and Ee roundels too small. The tampo printed plates compared to the prototype for size were OK. I wonder what the Hornby representations will be like for size?
  13. And the large circular cast Ee plate at the opposite end to the builders plate.
  14. Maybe they had heard that Bachmann was finally going to re-introduce their previously dropped, but to be upgraded class 04? "Calling rumour control, calling rumour control. Rumour control. Are you receiving? Over."
  15. So did some arrive at Hornby distribution or not or were we sold a bum steer? Have they been returned to the factory for remedial work/modification?? Will we see some before the Chinese new year??? Are the new delays due to climate change???? Were they shipped via Odessa????? Is that a turned up running plate I can see towards the front?????? Maybe they have been returned to have that poorly fitted handrail corrected??????? Can't wait to see what rumour control has to say about the latest speculation/assumptions
  16. Both to the left and right looking through my photos. A lot of pioneering railway talent up here in the Nether Region.
  17. Will tail lamps do? https://flic.kr/p/2e3ffb2 There's plenty more examples. When the Welsh type 3's began to be transferred to the N.E. in the mid sixties they initially kept their standard GWR lamp irons. As said above as time permitted and after heating to cherry red. the irons where "clinked ower" through 90 degrees with a big hammer to accept standard lamps. English Electric Type 3 D6819 by Tony Lambert, on Flickr Then the original irons were burnt off, leaving a witness mound if the burner couldn't be ar$ed to grind the remaining stub flush. I've also seen picks of NE "welsh" 37's with all four brackets but cannot find my references at the mo. Class 37 at Pelaw June 1967 by Chris, on Flickr

  19. Who's Phil Parker? Was he Laddy Penelope's chauffeur/coiffeur/chuffer? Whoever he is, I hope he gets well soon. Obviously a man outa my own boots.
  20. As there wasn't much chance of visiting, I have compensated by eating cake all day long.
