Maturing is realizing you don't need fun to have alcohol.
Happy Friday folks!

I see the druids and would-be druids have been out in force this morning - https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-wiltshire-65970567

I think I've been infected by something originating in the East, because I've found another LNER loco that I quite like.

What a wild 9 days - unexpectedly winning both 'Modeller of the Year 2022' and with Sandy Shores winning the 'Chairman's Choice' at Basingstoke. I couldn't be happier! My thanks to all who voted for me in the BRMA's, and I hope to continue producing interesting content both for BRM and for personal projects. ❤️ Jamie

I wish that from time to time, someone would produce an RTR steam loco that didn't require me to either send it back or build a replacement chassis or even just change the wheels, to enable it to run on my bullhead track. Consistent wheel profiles between the various RTR manufacturers would also help. It's all enough to make you go shopping for hair shirts again!

Hi, my name is Dave and I live in Portland, Dorset. I am modelling late GWR era and am most interested in DCC automation.

Seasons best to all. Thanks for tolerating my frequent rants.

I have seen it all now, an advert just flashed up on another site advertising workshops for parents to sign up their six to eleven year olds up for to train how to become successful YouTubers...
I despair...

@john new I accept your point about advertising, marketing etc. Also, the individuals you mention were all talented people, with skill and experience, which should be attributes valued by all. However, YouTube and other applications allows people who I will describe as 'talentless nobodies' to pretend to be something that they are not and it is vexing to see how many 'modern people' are taken in by all that.

Part of me wants to join in on this thread -

A little update for those kind enough to show interest in my efforts. I'm still working out the best way to construct the girders for the station roof, I'm having a go at another City building. This one is inspired by a still existing building down from the Bank of England. If anyone knows where I can get any corinthian capitals for pilasters and columns I would be obliged for a tip. I have created my own doric capitals from bit of scrap.
Slightly unkind pictures that show up my hairy modelling but they look ok at normal viewing distance.
