Have you seen the TV this morning, showing all the peeps queuing up waiting for the shops to open? Somehow I feel social distancing is going out the window as soon as the doors open!

Worse thing I found with our 7 was when left parked alongside a kerb, almost every time who ever parked either end would “nudge” it trying to judge where it was, no serious damage was done as a result (back end at least had the spare wheel there) but even when sitting in it the same would happen, they looked more carefully when a 6’2” 17 stone weakling got out of it and asked them to be more careful

The L322 Range Rover had the same, had to engage park before you could remove the ignition key. I suspect there are a few more like that also.

Early Minis had an ignition switch but also had a starter button in a shroud fitted on the floor by the drivers seat, it was in fact the starter solenoid, an easy fit as the battery was in the boot and the battery cable ran under the floor to the engine bay.

A bit strange, our experience has been completely the opposite, I’d say 80% of our friends down here are in the older/vulnerable groups and although having had the first jab (and some recently the second) they are still resolutely determined to be extra careful and always comment upon if they have to go shopping the younger population (as us old gits call them) seem to not even realise there are rules in place, and several have actually seen quite intimidating “bust ups” in Morrison’s and Sainsbury’s stores with staff trying to convince younger family groups to obey the rules. As for the holiday makers already coming here.....I’ve commented upon that already.

Yes, but doesn’t work well down here as a lot of the residents are from the Midlands (and lovely people they are too) who have come down for work, but in our particular town an awful lot of cars/trucks have personal plates, not expensive plates but the town’s name lends itself to the first four digits easily obtainable from DVLC, so they are easily spottable and get away with parking where “up country” type can’t
