  1. Thanks, I was sure they had to come with new bikes in the past (when we bought the kids bikes years ago for example) but wasn’t sure if it still was a requirement, seems crazy they have to be fitted from new but then can be taken off......cannot do that with a car horn.
  2. Serious question, are cycle bells not a requirement anymore?
  3. Not as bad as my Biology teacher, talk in his class and you got a frog thrown at you......RSPCwho?
  4. You should try driving through our town (Looe) in the Summer, it’s like a game of skittles you could never win no matter how many you knock down, absolutely frightening.....we limit our visit to the “high street” to early morning or late afternoons. And just to make it more fun we have an EV.....totally silent at 3 mph following the loons in the middle of the road, was easier in the massive great big V8 diesel Range Rover.....although more of a squeeze, at least they heard us behind them!
  5. Hundreds of those (not necessarily the same model of course) Japanese milk floats down here, as you probably well know they are extremely popular being slightly narrower than Euro/U.K. efforts, good for the granite edged lanes
  6. Quite right too, it’s been a very long time since the chalk board and dusty rubber hit me on the head, which could account for it
  7. I think the idea is it doesn’t work unless you really need it.....like charging your pacemaker
  8. These things can be overcome, in fact some busses use it, the inductive pad rises to be very close to the “charge area” under the bus, obviously position is controlled as well. It is much less efficient but I guess eventually that could be overcome to within a “knats” as well.
  9. Well it wasn’t as if it was 80 tons, noisy and belching smoke was it? It really makes you wonder sometimes, the human brain......how do some people just manage to turn it off completely and still stay alive?
  10. Not really, no leathers and no helmet......I’ll give you odds on that was stolen......cut their hands off!
  11. And driving that Porker the driver think there are no flies on him/her........I’ll get my coat.
  12. Well apart from the fact that the tester will talk to the applicant in English during the test I don’t believe so.
  13. Because it was so far back in thread that you “highlighted” your reason for not buying an EV, but now you have enlightened us that you might have one, but still your partner would never. That’s fine.
  14. And the size of a spaceship but still room on the marked bays to open the doors.......jealous...who me?
  15. We make the kids come to us....we are the ones with the beaches and sand
  16. My very first “auto” experience was when I was tasked with taking a series of pretty Essex views to entice graduates to join the company, one of my bosses at the time was a lovely bloke and he said “use my car” and as of course it was a management roll vehicle, a Cortina 2.3 Ghia Auto, very posh (at the time) but it was my first auto......first stop at traffic lights I put it in neutral, lights changed and into 1st gear, foot down and Iurched backwards a few yards.....SH1TE!.....nobody behind, now look at the “gear stick” and into D...and off I went. From that moment on I had my left leg tucked well under my right leg for the rest of the day! As you say, not impossible but needs bit of concentration for the first few days.
  17. Oh I don’t know, it was a very “dark” entry to the thread.....unnecessary so really
  18. This is what I was told by an old mate who is an instructor, we were chatting about him getting an EV to teach with but it will limit him to “auto” drivers and thus reduce his customer base, he decided to keep on with manual for now and he will probably have retired by the time EVs are the only vehicles available to newly passed drivers.
