  1. Those bogies aren't the best and I know Brian has an alternative in mind but that is up to Brian to tell you about. Pete
  2. Looks like a nice build Brian but those white metal bogies don't look anything like the ones in your picture. Pete
  3. Tony Legomanbiffo is or has done a sound set for the grinder you should contact him about getting yourself one? The pics look good
  4. The rules apply every where including Matlock Bath. I think the main problem is that the country the people in the video originated from has no enforcement or rules on railway safety compared to people from the UK so they think they can do the same here and frankly that's not on and if they will trespass at Matlock they will do it at any station and if caught they should be prosecuted like everyone else they are not a special case, there are several rail drivers on RM Web of both Passenger and Freight & I would not like to think how they would feel if someone passed away just over taking a "Selfie" as the real thing won't stop on a penny like a model will.
  5. You and Larry should team up you could do synchronized Layout changing Pete
  6. Could you put it on the layout and post some pics? please
  7. Know one could afford them if they were machined. No one else has had problems with the 7mm class 37 steps, Brian 2 sets, Giles 1 set to mention a couple. What you have is a fold assist tool, different to a Hold & Fold Tool. The instructions sheet show the fold on the inside. Also the number two end steps are incorrectly fitted you have a left hand step fitted to the right hand as looking from the number one end, I'm sure you have reference pictures if not I can email you some but I cannot post any here as they were not taken by myself. Pete
  8. With all due respect Lee you would have found the steps easier to build if you A, built the parts the correct way round i.e. half etched folds go on the inside and B if you used a Hold & Fold tool and Solder to join the parts together rather than some pliers and superglue. The do look good.
  9. This may sound a silly question but is there much difference in the weight from one side to the other of the upper superstructure as there are some heavy brass castings on the one side? My thinking is that will uneven weight distribution have on the compensation and running, it may be nothing but in 7mm with an all metal model loading's and the forces exerted on the bearings and moving parts is more important including how the model is weighted. Pete
  10. Kev if your 10000 build is a guide the layout will be well worth following. Pete
  11. We want pictures in a separate thread for the layout please? Pete
  12. Artistic License is a great thing when building a layout Dave. It will still look very good when done any way.
  13. Dave Will you have to add another line for the middle shed or are you just going to wing it? Pete
  14. Why do I immediately think of Captain Pugwash? looking like a good build Brian.
  15. Legomanbiffo is working on the mods needed to the sound sets to control the smoke generator as well as everything else he is doing at the moment unless you are fluent in using the Lok programmer and all of its quirks I would leave it to the experts to sort out as it's not a simple matter of just changing a couple of things on the program.
