  2. Latest phishing email purports to be from amazzon.co.uk. Morons.

I've had similar purporting to be from NatWest, re credit card payment due, very convincing artwork and text. only immediate give-away is "Dear Customer"

  3. Thanks for that. I had no idea there were so many photos of his work. Very few people can get so much soul into a model building, and his winter scenes are extraordinary. Malcolm Mitchell's feature article on George in MRJ 13 is one of the best items ever in MRJ in my view. I too managed to get a copy of his book on Ebay some time ago, probably paid around £25 for it. There was even one of his models up for sale once, just (!) a dilapidated lineside hut I think, but I missed out on that. I think it went to John B of this parish so at least I know it went to a good home.

Have you looked at whats coming our way on Sunday ? And building all the time...

  5. He had a website previously, still listed here http://www.clag.org.uk/russ/supplier.html under 'Alexander', but it's not functioning now as the OP says. I don't know if the email address is the one micklner has just referred to. He's always been friendly to talk to on the phone.
  6. Nice going John, you'll have finished this before I've converted my 5BEL to P4 at this rate! And a good example of 'acceptable accuracy' in the face of limited time/other distractions!
  7. Rip Rig & Panic on CD at last - brilliant!

  8. Now there's a modelling challenge ...
  9. I shall be following this with interest. John (Re6/6) and I are in the process of having some etched sides done for 4LAVs.
  10. Good point - I don't recall seeing any working together in their BR operational days, either for real or in photos.
  11. Interesting Colin! Perhaps we could swap running rights some time in the future?
  12. Thanks for the end-of-year report Mark, although it seemed for a minute that Eridge was turning into a blue diesel railway! On Mk1 we did sometimes back a rake of hoppers from the down into the headshunt (even during exhibitions!). Let's hope the change of premises doesn't curtail progress in 2014 - I don't think it will.
  13. Nice going Mark, it's good to see these things starting to take shape after all the other stuff dominating 2013.
  14. I couldn't agree more Phil. It's horses for courses as always of course (one of the great things about this hobby) but I like the idea of showing the railway actually moving stuff from place to place. This is something that Re6/6, myself and others are trying to do in P4 for Balcombe/Ouse Valley Viaduct/Lewes/Eridge.
  15. Wonderful stuff - I had no idea that Wenford Bridge, which I have marvelled over several times at shows, was just one bit of a huge empire!
  16. Bonus tracks - just serve to confirm why they weren't on the original album in the first place.

  17. Going a bit OT, but we don't need a new airport hub in London. Schiphol does the job admirably.
  18. Maybe Nigel Harris' open letter editorial in Rail found some ears in the BBC then?
